Religions make me laugh sometimes. Imagine someone from New York saying "yep, God picked me!" I would say that Joseph Smith might have had an overinflated ego. Typically a male thing. It seems to me that Joseph wanted a new religion to fit his lifestyle and so he just made one- with his own rules of course. And I wonder what new rules/norms would come from a man with a narcistic, overinflated ego. Hmmmm. Although this is not uncommon thoughout the world for a new religion or sect to be born with new ideas. It's not even uncommon to see a an old religion get Hijacked, and have it's original meaning get lost by "true believers" toting AK47 machine guns. Yeah, it's easy to make new religious rules with an AK in your hands...LOL. Even despite it's odd beggining, I hope the Mormon Church is able to help people experience the joy of serving others and to help them draw closer to God. If they can pull that off, then who cares what Jerk from New York started the religion.

The Mormon religion, from now on, the L.D.S.curch, stands for latter day saints was founded by a charleten named joseph smith, mr. smith had delusions of plates, indians, and jesus. he also could tell you stuff by looking at rocks in a hat. mr. smith liked girls too, lots o wives, all real young. so after wedding a particularly fetching 13 year old was tar and fethered and ran out of town on a rail. the next time it happened, they wacked him in navoo ill. so all the mormans split and moved to utah with brigham young, so they could have wives and wait for the appocolypse. then they stopped the wife thing, and some real wackos started the reorganized chuch of latter day saints, and that is why one is on the f.b.i.s ten most wanted list.

Joseph Smith was visited my God given tablet much like Moses. They are lost of course, and he began what is really known as The Church of Latter Day Saints ie. Mormon. You should have a Mormon Temple in your city and the Angel Moroni (?spelling) on top is facing toward Utah, where J. Smith and followers ended up living. Your know the Osmond's or if you are older the King family.

Joseph Smith was visited by an angel who delivered unto him golden tablets ... the contents of these tablets are now known as The Book of Mormon.
No more or less plausible than the origins of any of the other Judeo-Christian religions.

It came from God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.
They revealed the true religion to Joseph Smith a young man seeking the truth about religions. So many religions were teaching different things he prayed to find out church was right.
