I am Wiccan, and very proud of it!!! Why is it christians act like they are better than everyone else? And why can't they accept the fact not everyone in the world believe's in THEIR God..and the bible??
And before all you bible thumpers out there start quoting the bible ..here is a quote for you:
”Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measurement ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote (speck) that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and them shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:1-5

No where in this Q do you hear me say, I believe Wicca is the 'only' religion.
Nor, do I say 'ALL' Christians.
And I have read the bible, tried churches of many denominations, I tried for 35 years to be like the majority, and be christian. It did not, and never would work for me. I cannot believe in it. All anyone ever answers my questions with, including preachers, is 'the bible says'....blah blah blah..the bible was still written by 'mortal men' over 50 yrs after jesus died. How good will your memory be in 50 yrs?
And who 'created' the dinosaurs? We have proof they existed! If God is all knowing..all powerful and has existed since the beginning of time..why did he wait so long to create humans??

The Christian religion is derogatory to the Creator in all its articles. It puts the Creator in an inferior point of view, and places the Christian devil above him. It is he, according to the absurd story in Genesis, that outwits the Creator in the Garden Eden, and steals from Him His favorite creature, man, and at last obliges Him to beget a son, and put that son to death, to get man back again; and this the priests of the Christian religion call redemption.
It is from the Bible that man has learned cruelty, raping and murder; for the belief of a cruel God makes a cruel man.
never trust a religion whose ultimant goal is the end of the world- nostragoth on christianity
because christians make up the majority of america they take advantage and use the sheer numbers to make trouble.

I was a Pagan before I was a Christian.
I don't act like I am better than anybody, because I am not. I believe we are all the same. We all are sinners.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"(Romans 3:23)All Christians should know that.
I've met quite a few Wiccans and Pagans that hate Christians just because of their Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. They make fun of them, and I know of some that have done hateful things to them. Does the rede not say..."Do what you will, so long as it harms none ?"...
I do not judge all Pagans and Wiccans because I've met a few that hate Christians. Just as you should not judge all Christians because you may of had a bad experience with a few. Each person is an individual, and is able to make their own decisions, mistakes, biases, and judgements.
Already you have passed judgement on me as a 'bible thumper' but I speak from the heart.

You're right, Christians shouldn't act that way. But, again, no one is perfect. It may be though that they have a conviction, not just a belief that Christianity is true. The same Bible you got your scripture from shows that Jesus Christ came to the world inviting people to come to Him (we can do that by praying and reading his words) because He knew the way to help them be truly and eternally happy. There is also a promise in the Bible that lets us know how to know if Christianity is right. It says that we can talk to God in prayer and ask Him simply if these things are true. He said He'll let us know by the Spirit. The Bible also says that the fruits (manifestations) of the spirit are wonderful feelings in the heart of peace, happiness, love, joy, temperance, etc. -all good feelings. If it's wrong, then we'll have a stupor of thought. Give it a try- you have nothing to lose, only something to gain. It cannot hurt you. But, it will only work if you sincerely desire to know.

I find it very interesting that you, a Wiccan, would use the Bible to establish your point. I also find it interesting that non-Christians delight in accusing Christians of considering themselves "better than everyone else." Jesus modeled a life of complete humility, and Christians are called to do the same. For them to do otherwise would be in contrast to God's Word. Christians are called to love others, which at times may be very difficult. Something in our human nature wants to "one-up" others, whether it be on the road, on the job, in school, etc. It is a grievous human flaw.
Sometimes, what we believe someone thinks about us is completely opposite to what that person is really thinking, yet we have decided for ourselves and closed the issue. That's a shame. We are all too quick to judge the motives and actions of others. Our preconcieved notions (prejudices) really hurt us more than anyone else.
Perhaps you can explain to me why Christian people are everyone's favorite "whipping boy"? What have we done to deserve such vicious treatment from the press and others? Yes, there are some people referring to themselves as Christians who do bad things. There are also Wiccans (and Muslims, Jews, etc) out there doing bad things. Does that make you (or them) a bad person? No, not at all. Likewise, I, too, should not be so-labeled because I am a follower of Jesus Christ. Hate is a two-edged sword and is a very dangerous weapon.

Blessings be.
As a Christian I hope I never come across that I am "better than everyone else," because that simply isn't true. I am no better than you, or even the "worst" person born. My sins murdered the man that I love the most, and the Bible says that if you are guilty of breaking one point of law, you are guilty of breaking every point of the law. What a horrible, horrible man I am. If I do ever come across as "better than thou" I assure you, it is because of my own pride, which I hate, not because of my beliefs.
That has nothing to do with, however, whether or not my "religion" is the only "right" one. Something is either true or it is not. Either God created this world, or He did not. Either He exists or He does not. Either Jesus was who He claimed to be and rose from the dead, or He was and did not.
If Jesus rose from the dead, and you reject Him as your Lord and Savior, you will go to hell. This is a fact, not a judgment. If you are shipwrecked at sea and you have a choice between a rotten piece of driftwood or a life preserver and you grab the drift wood, you might find that it floats for a while, but when it gets waterlogged and sinks you will die because of your choice. Jesus, and Jesus alone saves. That doesn't make you a horrible person (at least no more horrible than anyone else), but it does make you lost at sea holding on to something that won't float.
Peace be to you.

A true Christian would not think they are better than anyone else, in fact it is just the opposite, when I was born again I thought of and saw myself as lower than others and in fact preferred others over myself. I do not judge anyone for their beliefs, they have a God given right to believe what they want to believe, I would not force my beliefs on anyone, but at the same time I will not hold back or change my mind on what I believe, no matter what the cost (even death).I believe in Christ because he has done in my life exactly what he has promised and yes I would hope that others would understand what I know, It is my biggest desire to see others saved. Any true blood bought Christian wants to see people saved, who in their right mind having seen their neighbors house on fire would not go and knock on the door to wake them up before it was too late?

Why do Wiccans think they are better than everyone else, and that their religion is the only 'right' one?
I have never seen Christians admitting they are the best. But all others say so. So there is no doubt...the Christianity must be the real & the best.
However the best can be only seen only when Christians follow the paths of God. Because being a Christian means being another Christ.
I also personally believe that the religion begins with one God is the real and the right one. And the people who believes in it are the "chosen" and have to perform their best to let others know it's the right one.

Because we want everyone to know what believing in God means. If you knew something that would save people from going to hell you would tell them wouldn't you? God says to spread his word. Some Christians are non-judgmental other aren't, being saved doesn't make them perfect, just forgiven when their not perfect.
How is it that in the bible written how long ago they knew the world was round but it took scientists forever to figure that out.
How did the people who wrote the Bible know that if God didn't tell them

Church (as a religious-social) institution is like a big transnational corporation... and it wants to have more and more followers...
so all the major religions have such provisions...
1. Christians say - there is only one God - so all the Christians believe they should "help" others to return to the right path...
remember the inquisition of medieval
2. in Islam (Muslims) - there are similar provisions - it is not forbidden to kill a non-Muslims...
remember the holly jihad
3. several oriental religions don't have those provisions so explicitly - but that's because they are more philosophy than a religion...
but e.g. in ancient Rome there were such a public authority - who was in charge of relationships with foreign Gods...
those guys believed there are several gods, and each nation, tribe etc. can have its own one... (that is much more tolerant than most of today's democratic systems... :-)

Doesn't "Why do CHRISTIANS" mean all Christians as a group? I personally don't think that I'm better than others. And whoever has a religion believes that it is the only right one, so why pick on us? Maybe it's because we proclaim our faith to others and want to share the greatest gift of all with people like you. I think that people just get the wrong impression sometimes because of SOME other people.
