I myself would call it gross, however the medical term for it is called pica. The person {S} who do such things are lacking vitamins and should seek medical help. I knew several people with this sort of problem.

Anemic. Eating "odd" things is called "pica" and a sign of a difficiency (not to say it isn't mental deficiency though), but most likely organic and anemia.
