Well being that you used the word appropriate to ask this question I will assume you do not care about the actual legal age. First you should make sure he is not the right guy, but a good guy you know the responsible type. Usually these are the ones that take precautions, and they take their time with you. Most importantly you should do it because you feel it is the right time for you no one else can know this but you. You should always make sure that the other person is clean, and you should talk to him about it first if you feel ready. I will give you an example.
I had sex when I was 16. With a guy I only knew for a couple of weeks. And I tell you the honest true 4 years later now we are married, and we are planning on having our first child. It was not that way with my Mother you she she had sex when she was 16, and got pregnant with me, and my biological father left her to raise me alone. My aunt had sex the first time when she was 19, and by the time she ended up with th second child with her partner they split up. So you see it is different for every one. It all depends on you, and your partner. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best luck.

Hello,

There is no appropriate age in my opinion but the later the better. Everybody is in such a hurry now a days to have sex and forget what sex is really about. There are alot of risks that come along with sex inlcuding things from STD's to emotional issues.
Take the time to know it's with the right person and don't get hurt, pregnant, or an STD because everyone else is pressuring you or you fall into the moment. I would say at least 17 before thinking about it. And that goes for oral sex in my opinion also.

Wait wait wait!!! Don't do anything with anyone until you can answer this question on your own! That would be the appropriate age. I would hope that you would at least be in love with your partner. The legal age in Cali. is 18.

When you are emotionally and mentally ready for it. It's a very intimate and special thing, so you will need to be with someone that reciprocates the feelings, therefore waiting until you are married is the best choice!

I think it really truly depends on the person, his or her maturity level, etc.... But I would say that it is a decision you make as an adult. Enjoy being young, you have the rest of your life to have sex, and hopefully it will be with the right person whom you love when you are completely ready for it.
