For example, if you have bad breathe, body odor, something hanging out of your nose, your zipper down, or something in your teeth? Would you embarrassed to the point that you would be offended if someone informed you of any of these things? I was talking to a guy in a bookstore and noticed that he had 3 bloody toliet paper dots on his neck from shaving cuts. I figured he would rather be aware of it than walk around with them there all day, so I told him quietly. He got very embarrassed, then seemed angry with me for telling him. Would you want to know about any of these things or would you rather no one told you?

Actually, i'd rather someone told me. So, what you are doing is simply trying to help me and you're also considering my goodness.. What's better than this? On the other side, yeah i may become a little bit angry with myself, saying like how can i forget or ignore this.. But, certainly i'd appreciate you then.. :) So, keep it up, be yourself and don't pay attention to their reactions at that time, i think...

I like it when people alert me to embarressing things, but at the same time, I still feel a bit flustered that there was something wrong in the first place. If they tell me rudely then I will most likely respond very negatively, but if they tell me quietly to the side then I will be more inclined to handle the matter like a grown up.
It sounds to me like the guy got defensive or upset when you told him about the potentially embarressing piece of toilet paper... because he was, indeed, embarressed. If you were closer to him than just someone else at the book store perhaps the comment would have been better received.

I think most people would rather be told, so they don't walk around all day looking like a Dork. But you have to be sensitive in how you do it ... away from other people, and sometimes with subtle body language.
Otherwise you are just embarrassing the person.

YES! I did a presentation to a group of Dr.s and I had a massive cliff-hanger the whole time. Like a big green goblin screaming for attention from the people I was trying to seal a contract with... very embarrassing.

I would want it brought to my attention. One time at work my co-worker blew her nose and then wiped up and it stuck to the side of her nose. There were customers so I couldn't whisper to her that she had something there because that would have been rude to the customer so I just kept motioning like I had something on my nose. She didn't pick up on it and when the customer left I told her, she was so mad but what was I supposed to do? She would have been more mad if I would have let it go longer!

I'd rather know it as soon as possible.
My mom said that that's the difference between a best friend and an aquiantance, is that a real friend would care enough to let you know.
Those that take offense might have social issues to begin with.

depends is your smart *** attitude came through again and how did you tell him? Knowing you by now I think you loved to tell him with a grin on you face so he felt like a total idiot.
I feel sorry for you and for you behaviour! even though you collage marks were so high? Maybe you dont know how do behave as you did not spend enough time with your Mum or Dad? to teach you and help you to grow?
Time to grow up lady. Its all about how you say things not what you say and you still need to learn a long way

Yes I Would. However many people would be offended by someone saying something like that. My ex-husband always took things like that vey critically. Mabe women like to know more than men do.

Yes, I hope that someone would tell me about them. I would hope that I would be grateful. I suppose it is easier to hear it from a friend than a complete stranger, though.

Yes, I would like to be told, but would like to be told quietly and discreetly. And only from someone I know.
