Some say it was the Romans, and that would make it a pagan ritual. Some say it was the Jews, and that would be an abomination. Some say it was suicide, and that would be unforgivable. What say you?

I Feel Jesus is the Son of God And God sent his only begotten son to die for us.
Being a parent I feel saying they are the same being takes allot away. It means so much more to me that he would sacrifice his child to die for our sins, I couldn't Imagine having to watch my child suffer and die and that's what I feel he did for us, he gave his son. His beautiful child.

Bottom line up front: God sacrificed his son in order that we all have an opportunity. Remember, a sacrifice must be perfect, and Jesus' hardship was to remain perfect all the way up to the sacrifice... Jesus' came from a perfect seed, not like all of us who have ties to Adam's seed and original sin. We are all marked, but through God's grace and our own faith you can be identified with Jesus and have eternal life forever....

There are great statements in Romans that can give you more fidelity on the answers you are looking for.

You got to see that before Christianity, Sacrifice was the only way to get right in God's eyes...

It's the Grace of God of that he made it possible to allow an ultimate sacrifice to end our obsession with sinning. However, many of us today live our lives today making sin so much an issue in our lives that it prevents us from growing spiritually.

Lets say that Jesus sat us all down in a restaurant and after the meal he said he'll pick up the tab. Do we all trust him and go home, or do you go to the kitchen and start washing dishes because you do believe that Jesus didn't make good on his offer?

The Bible says that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, and that the old laws no longer applies. It's not a ticket to sin but rather a freedom to begin to grow in the Grace and Knowledge that God's has to offer...

Study Bible and see for yourself, you'll see that the cruxsifiction was the beginning of a whole new chapter in God's ultimate plan...

God put Jesus here on Earth with the same free will to make choices for ourselves. It just so happens that Jesus, being a part of God, knew what choice He needed to make so that the world would be able to have a share in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus never ran away, knowing what would happen. The Jews would not let Him go free, and the Romans actually carried it out, but they were just tools in a divine plan for the salvation of the world.

I say that if Jesus really was the Son of God, and if, after crucifixion, Jesus left his human form and rose to Heaven completely divine, then Jesus does not seem to have sacrificed much at all but rather to have gained from the transaction.

On the other hand, anyone who is crucified without knowledge of an afterlife, particularly one as the Son of God, can be said to have sacrificed a great deal.

Good question, as I understand it, the jews, and the romans sort of conspired to have jesus crucified because he was , well, "making too many waves" As the Bible teaches in the gospel of John chapter 3 starting with verse 16 " For God So loved the World that He gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

We all have our own free will. We can do good or we can sin. This includes Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God. He had free will when on Earth, just as He does today. God informed Him of His plan for redemption of sinners. Jesus had full ability to turn away from the sacrifice because He said to God: "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42). Jesus wanted to do the right thing, even if it meant doing something that would hurt Him and cause Him to suffer. He knew it was to pay for sins of all mankind for all time. Whoever accepts His sacrifice will have eternal life. Without His sacrifice all mankind would have been lost: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23).

Bottom line: Jesus sacrificed Himself willingly because it was God's will for Him to do so to make a way back to God for mankind. Jesus wanted to do His Father's will.

Pray this prayer to be saved:

"Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner. Forgive me Father for my sins. I know I am not perfect. I want to turn away from sin and live a new life. I accept Jesus' sacrifice as payment for my sin. Jesus, I ask you to come into my life as my Lord and Savior. I want to follow you Jesus and learn about you. Heavenly Father, I pray this in Jesus' holy name, amen."

If you prayed this prayer and meant what you prayed, you are now a Christian and your spirit has been born again (see John 3:3). Find a Bible-believing church (ask them if they believe in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) and attend service as often as you can. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible. If you don't have a copy of the New International Version (NIV) it's a good idea to get one; it's far easier to read than the King James Version.

God Bless You in Jesus' Name!

Based on the concept of the Holy Trinity - Father, Son, Holy Spirit - all 3 are one in the same. That was Christ's purpose, and when considering that Christ is God, and vice versa, it was a single choice to sacrifice to allow believers eternal life.

Jesus did not kill himself. Jesus laid down His life for us. It was an act of charity/love. Jesus is one with God the Father. Jesus was the sacrificial lamb who takes away the sin of the world. God the Father accepted the sacrifice and so did God the Son. Their wills were the same.

And the direct manifestation of his death is not only on the hands of the executioners, but is on all those who sin. It was sin and death that Jesus laid down His life for so that by this utimate act of love (being God taking the blame though He is blameless) He conquered death and sin.

We can live in that love and allow our sins to be forgiven. Thanks be to Jesus.

Jesus came to be with us for the purpose of giving his life as a sacrifice - which was the only way that we could have forgiveness and eternal life. It wsa something we could not do or pay ourselves.
He became fully man, as well as fully God with us. He taught us, ministered to people and gave His life as God's plans for redemption.
The Roman army and government, as well as the Jewish leaders of the day facilitated his death, but it was all of us - you and I. We are sinners as well as they were and in need of his salvation and are no different in our separation from God, and our need for God.
His mercy, love and sacrifice for us all were manifested at the cross, that gives our life purpose and the promise of eternal life.

The father sacrificed the Son and the Son obeys unto death, read Isaiah 53:10." Yet it was the Lords will to crush him and to cause him to suffer. and though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper his hand. After the suffering of his soul he will see the light [of life] and be satisfied, BY HIS KNOWLEDGE my righteous servant will justify many and he will bear their iniquities. Read the whole chapter it awesome, it tells the whole story basically 400 years before it came to pass

You need to read John 3:16. I don't care what other people say. I go by what i've learned and believe. I believe that Jesus died for our sins. Which means that all we have to do is believe and wash our sins away. I asked Jesus into my life on April 10, 2001. And been believing since. I may not go to church every sunday. My parents and other people tell me that if you don't go to church then you're not a christian. Where in the bible does it say you have to go to church to believe in God. please tell me if you know.
