What is the foundation of people's belief?
1. Does it soothe their conscience or correct it when needed?
2. Does it offer authentication, proof, and truth?
3. Does it produce fear to get you to love conditionally?
4. Does it offer hope?
5. Does it provide now or later, and what benefits will show in the former or the latter?
6. Does the belief give it what you need OR want?
7. IS IT ABSOLUTE TRUTH?
Some religions claim to follow God, but it leads to a dead end. Some claim to follows pluralist gods, but some are powerless to provide when needed.
Some beliefs claim they have the way to God, but the reality is it isn't the god they were hoping for.
Christianity brings good news that all other religions can't, a relationship with the glorious Almighty. It is the faith that Jesus Christ gave us the opportunity to restore the relationship lost in the garden of Eden. It is the only faith where God made the effort to be with man, most others are vica versa. Jesus said I am the Way, the truth, the Life...no one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6). This becomes a disclaimer to all other religions. this is a VERY strong statement.
Jesus wouldn't make this claim unless He knew this...

One of awareness and recognition that we are nothing but a minute part of a larger immortal and infinite system where a God does not exist. If the earth happened to be the 'center' of the universe, I would probably fall in line with the Church's position. However, this is not the case. The earth is far from being the center of the universe and so are we.

I am not sure if there is a God But I am sure which religion he would have expected us to follow. The Religion of Humanity. That's all that matters my friend. To be good to your fellow man, to help the poor, to cloth the naked, to feed the hungry, to be there for people who need you and last but not least to fall in love and enjoy the short time you have on this planet. Robert Ingersol once said: My creed is this, Happiness is the only good. the place to be happy is here. The time to be happy is now, the way to be happy is to make others so. Good Luck

You kind of sound like a modern version of someone I've heard stories about. Here's what I recommend if you are uncertain, because you can never be certain about any answer that you get from anyone on here: pray. Let God know that you are trying to be the best that you can for Him and you desire to serve Him, and just ask Him in which of the many different churches you would be able to do the most for His kingdom.

You are supposed to go strictly by the Bible. It tells you how you should live and treat people. Just accept Jesus and strive to be like Him. He is perfect. No one can ever be perfect but you can try at all times. That is what being a Christian is. You live by God's word. You don't have to go by a certain religion. Just go by what the Bible says. All these different religions are based on people distorting what the Bible says and throwing their own stuff in there. The true religion is the Bible.

It is my belief that God want our spirituality and a personal relationship with him according to his word (Bible).
Religion is not the issue, because even Jesus Christ in the Bible attacked the most Religious Organization of his day.
I say study the word of God (John 1:1 and John 1:14), learn that sin is not the issue, since that has been solved for you already (John 3:16).
Study, like really study, the Bible and you'll find that growing spiritually and educating yourself in the word, will make you see that it's not about religion at all but your faith and what you do with it is what counts.

Religion is a belief based on faith. Faith on what others saw and wrote. Most people need to be a part of something greater than they are. Whether that religion or nationalism. Nobody will truly know what the true religion is until we die. All we have is faith that what we have is truth. Hopefully God will be merdiful towards those who are wrong, which could include me.

I think it is possible. And to be fair, I think he will show us proofs in the instructions that he wants us to obey.
I was born an aethist but now I am a born-again Christian because I think I have found those proofs in the bible.
Before you throw this answer out of your mind, you might want to know that I am a medical doctor who has studied science and evolution and many deep things about physics etc and was an aethist until I read the bible when I was 16 and the things in it just amazed me.

God came to earth and taught us his true religion....then he died and all of his apostles were killed. So a restoration of his "true" church needed to happen. In 1820 this restoration happened when God the Father and his son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and told him to "join none of the churches". Then over the course of a few years they helped him to restore the original church of Jesus Christ back on the earth. God still talks to his people today through prophets. If you are sincere in looking for answers to the only true faith take a look at www.lds.org and read this. Don't discount it until you take a look b/c if you feel that what you are reading is true, it is the holy ghost working in you to tell you that it is right.

holy crap there are a lot of controversial questions on here, do you really want to know the answer, they're all going to be different, very different, now I believe very much in mine, I and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in other words I'm l.d.s, I have been fully involved with this religion since I was born, now I know that a lot of people will disagree with me, but it's just what I believe personally I don't make up my mind to hate someone based on their religion.
