My children did that too, until I found a way to make bath time more fun. I give them toys to play with, while they get clean. Bath time is also part of their bed time routine, so they know to expect it now. Kids get upset because it usually isn't fun, there isn't much for them to do. They like to get dirty and play. It's part of being a kid. Finding ways to make bath time fun helps lots to calm them.

Children like everyone else want control over their own bodies and bath time is often a time when parents have the control. Try teaching them how to clean themselves, and give them some control over their own care. They won't be as good at it as you but they will be happier. Teach them the basics and help them through the harder to reach places until they get good at bathing. Toes are a great place to start! Make it more fun and less of a chore for both of you.

To a child, every second seems like a minute.TO them, they want to do so much, and cleaning up is just holding them up from more important things. They also don't like being held still. I give my son special toys to keep him entertained while I clean him up. I give my son his popsicles when he's playing in his kiddie pool, that way he gets cleaned up and has fun at the same time!

All children at some point and time are like that, just tell them you have ice cream for them, and once they say they want some tell them that you can't eat before you take a bath, and they will get it after the bath, give them a motovations, hope thats helpful, good luck =]

Kids have a natural fear of water for one thing. They just need time to get used to it. Our son used to hate anything to do with bathtime, but since starting to take him to the pool and having fun with the water, he loves bath time.
He still does not like having his face washed, though. I'll try the face washer monster trick.

Because they like to be dirty! :)
No seriously, my son doesn't mind as long as I don't wipe his face. Then I have to do the "wash cloth monster" and have it kiss his face clean! :)
