Yes I do. Part of it was growing up in the south, part of it is from spending 6 years in the Army. You always remove your cover indoors.

What hat? Most guys don't even have manners decent enough to remove their baseball caps when dining inside!
A hat is for outside wear only - like a bbq. Put the damn thing on the back of the chair - or better yet - leave it in the truck! If in the house - do not put your hat on the table.

I don't wear a hat but, if I did I wouldn't take it off when entering a building or house unless I was asked to. What's the point?

I'm an Orthodox Jew -- I always keep my head covered. One of the reasons the yarmulke (Jewish skullcap) was invented was to have a "hat" that is recognizeable as a religious symbol so as not to offend non-Jews in places where hats are usually removed, such as schoolsd or courtrooms (Yes, I have owrn my yarmulke while testifying in court. Otherwise I could not take the oath, since a religious Jew is forbidden to take an oath bare-headed.) In the Orthodox Jewish world, regular brimmed hats are worn even at the dinner table. In fact, if a male -- Jew or non-Jew -- visits an Orthoodx home bare-headed, he will be asked to put on a yarmulke or other hat. So really, the answer ot this question depends on your culture...

It is completely unacceptable to enter a building with a hat unless you are hiding. I mean, outside a hat protects your head; its like travel wear or an umbrella.
Inside you have to be hiding a bad haircut, and usually you should wear sunglasses just to complete the outfit.
All things aside, HATS ARE FOR OUTSIDE

1. If I on a date that is considered a "STRIKE" if a hat is not removed upon walking indoors. It is a matter of respect for myself and who I associate with. A man with manners always catches my eye.
2. Use the same ettiquite a woman would for "Where would I place my purse?"

in the south it is. I went to a private college in the south and we had to. We could not go into the cafeteria unless our hats were off. I don't on a hole. I never grew up hearing this rule. I just did it when i was at that school and if i was at a older persons house and they made a comment

I'm not a man but if a man enters my home, he should remove his hat. If not, I wouldn't mention it, but I would consider him an oaf with no home-training!
My husband removes his hat when he goes indoors. This is something that he was taught growing up.

I do, although I don't wear hats very much. I would place it on a seat in a restaurant. If a ball cap, I would tuck it into the back of my jeans (I don't wear ball caps with slacks as a general rule...).
