If he has ringworm or a skin infection you will need to take him to the vet. If he is just a shedding dog (like mine) you can have your vet recommend a groomer who can take care of that pesky undrecoat. Around my area the device or technique groomers use is called Furminator.

Most of the time, the reason why a dog is shedding is b/c they are a) trying to lose the extra fur they put on for the winter, or b) they are not getting proper nutrition. You may check with your vet to see what can be done about this and if your dog may need a different kind of dog food.
Good Luck!!!

If it is due 2 the hot weather than that's life every dog does that. So brush more often. But if it is REALLY excessive than take him 2 the vet he may have an allergy or thyroid problem. Good Luck!

Fish oil and vitamin E, that works a little on my dog. If there are bald spots, take her to the vet to check for skin mites.

if it is short hair i rub my dog down with Bag Baum from local co-op. them dry off with towel real good. He looks so shiny and adds moisture to his coat. He seems to really love this since it is kinda cooling. Then your hands will feel so soft for a few days from the baum. it is very healing for any irratations also.

I worked in a grooming shop where a woman did not want her dogs hair on her newborn. We use one cup of vinegar to 1 gallon of water as a rinse after shampooing in oatmeal shampoo. after a while it worked!
