When I was in high school, my dad DID hate my boyfriend! However, both my parents were smart enough not to tell me because they knew if I knew that they hated him, I would have just liked him more. Deep down I knew my dad didn't think much of him, but he always treated all my friends fairly.
Now that I'm an adult, I can see that my dad was right about the old boyfriend. Try to value your dad's opinion. He has more life experience than you. If you think he's being irrational, then just talk with him. Have him get to know your boyfriend better. If youtr boyfriend doesn't want to get to know your dad.... well, then maybe Dad's right!

i was in the same situation. my dad liked my b/f for the first month and then hated him with a passion and tried to break us up many times. all you can do is explain to your dad that you like your b/f and that you can understand where hes coming from, but at the same time you need to find out about him for yourself. it also depends on why your dad doesnt like him. sometimes your dad could be right about somethings. just dont let your dads feelings get in the way of yours. Ask my dad to give him a try and after a while if his feelings doesn't change you may need to move on. Because it's a reason your dad doesn't like your boyfriend.

lover or a boyfriend is who u choose out of er own interest and not of er dad, so why do u worry. have fun and try to make er dad understand that u really enjoy in his presence if u really do 8 )

ask him why? dads usually have good reasons to hate people. after listening to his reasons think about what he's said. he might have a point.
my dad has only liked one guy i dated. and he's the only x i have that i'm still on friendly terms with. so think about why he hates him.

Dad's have no improper motivation for "hating" boyfriends. Even if you disagree with him, he may be seeing something you don't.

Hey Daddy Love his Little girl and that is what he is going to do is to keep you safe from guy he don't like. your BF needs to set down with your dad and talk. about what is he wanting with his girl.and how he will keep u safe when he is not around. your sure go to let him no that you are not going to do anything stupid wild she is any where around you. don't no your age but tell her father one day your may be his son in law.go fishing or go to a ball game. have fun BUT DON'T MISTREAT HIS GIRL.

try to convince him that he is a good guy and tell him you like him alot and that he treats you right and with respect he should change his mind
