theres alot of ways to get names like when u find a name on wat they do heres some good tips

Naming your new pet can be a fun experience. However, there are times when one can get stuck for a name or become frustrated; particularly if more than one person needs to agree on the name. Here are a few tips for naming your pet. First, give your pet a name that you are not embarrassed to yell out loud in front of your neighbors, you'll likely need to call your pet at some point. One or two syllable names are easiest for one to call and the pet to remember. If you do select a long name, envision what the shortened version - that you'll end up using daily - is likely to be. Try to choose a name that doesn't sound like a command that you plan on teaching him. Training 'Mit to sit' could confuse a pup. If you are having trouble coming up with names there are a variety of sources one can take names from. Consider favorite musicians; authors; tv, movie, or literary characters. You can take names from history - Caesar, Franklin, or Hannibal; or from mythology - Athena, Zeus, or Apollo. A favorite athlete, car, or vacation spot may also provide the inspiration for just the right name. A pets' behavior, personality or appearance can also help inspire the new name. Names with meanings such as Flash, Cinnamon, or Tabasco often develop out of a physical or personality trait. More and more human names such as Max, Sam, or Amber are being used too. Have fun naming your pet and you are bound to come up with a name that everyone can enjoy.

Ring or Ringo are fairly standard names for border collies, Jack if you have Aussie strain of dog. The spelling of the dogs type is border collie not boarder because they were used along the Scottish/English border for herding sheep. They are not really a thorough breed but they have been around long enough that they are not quite mutt either. If your dog is true to type you should find him to be very smart, attentive, protective of children, and loyal. Training for tricks and obedience will reward both you and the dog, they are often used in sheep herding demonstration at agricultural fair and you should see something like that at least once if you have a decent dog. As for the name, any good boy name that is easy to say so that you won't forget what it is because once the dog learns it he won't forget it

First of all I belive intaking your time in naming him. Sometimes just watching him a name will come to you.Boarder collies are working dogs so a storng buy short name may be best,[ex,mega, max, bo,luke,]or you could name him after the one who got him for you and or even afriend. Good luck on finding the right name

Well, some of the better dog names that I've heard are: Murphy, Boomer, Max, Duke, Snickers, Bailey, Angus...seems that names with two syllables are best - good for calling out to them...otherwise you'll probably end up with some shorter nick-name anyway. Give him lots of love! :-)

I think RILEY is a great name, cute & sassy just like Border Collies.

BTW, you'll want to start training your Border EARLY, they are highly intelligent & if their energy is not channeled constructively, believe me you'll regret it later, you'll have a dstructive, unhappy do & YOU will be even more unhappy. As a working/herding breed, they need to be challenged constantly, they are not a breed to sit happily in the yard all day.

I had a puppy that I had to put down at 6 months old his name was lucky because he was badly hurt when he was 3 days old. Your puppy sounds like the color he was. I would name him lucky because he is lucky to have a good owner.
