Wild. The kitties are not tame. They usually live in family packs and survive by hunting, scavenging through trash and leftovers, and through the donations of cans of cat food and dry food left by local residents that care for them.
We have a pack of feral cats where we live. We catch and get fixed as many as we can, but they still multiply fast!
Contrary to popular belief, you can easily tame the cats, with food and patience. They are born housebroken like all cats, only feral cats never miss the cat box, unlike common domestic cats.
They really are grateful for every meal you provide, again, unlike common house cats.

Typically this means a domestic animal like a cat or dog that has returned to the wild and no longer relies on humans for its care. The distinction between feral and wild is that wild animals have never been domesticated while feral animals were domesticated and then abandoned, escaped, etc.
