You can never really get over a loved one dying, you have to make that fact a part of your life and weave it all together. The best way to cope is to try to remember all the good times and appreciate the times you spent with your loved one. My mom past away and it was the hardest thing for me to deal with, it happened in 1995 but I still get a little teary eyed to this day. But you cant let your sadness consume you. You have to keep pressing forward. Remember your loved one.

You dont need to get over it. You just need to accept that it happened and remember the good times you had together. The grief of loss will fade with time but you can still keep your memories alive and be thankful that you knew the person for a short while upon this earth.

Supposedly time heals all wounds and to some extent this is true. You do need to be able to let it out and if you have a trusted friend or family member just being able to sit and talk and cry with them is a big help. If it's a dog you have lost you can go onto my website and it's full of things to help you with your loss. The link is below. Hope that it can be of some solace to you. May God be with you in your time of need.

In some ways you never do. People who have been close to you leave a permanent mark on your heart and soul. So don't necessarily try and get over them. Remember them for who they were and try to live on as they would want you to.

I lost the closest person to me EVER and the pain comes every now and tha but you transfer that to good memories and things they taught you. learn from the person and keep the thoughts positive, it's life and hard but they'll always be with you :) Take care

if the person is dead and you really loved that person you never get over them. your heart never forgets. but you can recover. just think about the fact that they would want you to be happy and not sulk all the time because of their death. my g-ma died and my mom sulked all the time...but then she thought about what her mom would want and she slowly started to return to how she used to be. she never fully recovered but at least she isn't as sad as she used to be.
