1. Start with a positive attitude.
2. Research and access your body to see if you really need to lose weight or just tone up.
3. Have a realistic goal. Aim for 1-2 lbs. per week.
4. Set up a basic diet of fruits, veggies, lean meats and a little dairy. Drink lots of water. Decide on how many calorires you need in a day and try to stay within the max....but at least eat 1200 to 1400 a day.
5 Set up an exercise program...walking is good. Do this daily or every other day.
6. Add in some weight bearing exercises to help tone up your muscles.
7. Only weigh yourself once a week or once a month. Don't get caught up in the numbers...
8. Don't give up.

Bottom line: you have to burn more calories than you take in.

Exercise every day, even if it's just a walk. Go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Eat fish, eggs, chicken, occasional lean beef or pork, low fat cottage cheese. Stay away from regular cheese, no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, peas, beans (except green beans). No fruit and no fruit juice (it's sugar water, my dr says). Cut down on carrots and tomatoes (included ketchup). Use mustard instead of mayonnaise in recipes. Eat lots of salads, green vegetables. Salads only have one tablespoon of dressing for the whole salad. No ice cream, or other desserts. 8 glasses of water a day. No caffeine

eat every three hours small meals...easy on carbs high on protiens.. excercise with cardio 3 times a week and the other 3 days circuit training for 20 minutes a day.

Eat less food, and do more exercise. There is no magic to loosing weight.
