What do you want to do with him? If you want him to commit, tell him thats what you want. If he doesn't want to commit to you or see himself with you in the future, then hun that isn't respect thats convienance. Tell him to make up his mind and you do the same.

what do you mean by commit? Marriage? or boyfriend/girlfriend? If you have been seeing him a year and --well you did not say, if you are sexual or not. The best way to get commitment from him is to tell him what you want, NO SEX, and finally RESPECT YOURSELF-----------that is how you really get it
