Is she teething? If she is not an infant, when she bites, immediately remove her from whatever activity she is involved in, isolate her from any form of entertainment for a few minutes and let her see that every time she does this you will fuss over your grandson for that few minutes, give him a cartoon character bandaid (even though he probably doesn't need one) and tell her that little girls who bite need to spend time alone. I have had other people whose children do this tell me that biting back puts a stop to it, but I don't think I would want to start a biting war between two children.

Hi - I know what your going through. My 2 year old started biting her younger brother and sister recently and I was at wits end. I did the whole bite back thing and it didn't work. I asked our pediatrician and she said to give her something that she IS allowed to bite. So we gave her a biting pillow. I wasn't to keen on the idea at first - but I sat her down and explained to her that biting is not allowed and if she gets frustrated that she is allowed to go over and bite her pillow. And so far so good. It's been 3 months and she hasn't bit either of her siblings again!
Good luck

Good old punishment. Put her in the naughty corner each time she does it and tell her why she is being punished. Be sure to frown and make it obvious that you are sad and angry at the behaviour. That gets them everytime. Isolate her and let her see the other kids having fun. Explain to her that "children who bite dont get to play". She'll get the message.
Talk to her and teach her an alternative way to act, for example yelling instead of biting.
Be sure to do it EVERYTIME even if you are out in public and people are looking on and she is acting like a raving lunatic. Discipline has to be consistent.
And tobasco sauce lady...please send me your info so i know who not to send my kids to.

Tabasco on the tongue. I know it sounds mean, but it's not meaner than her biting!
Only use a tiny tiny TINY bit because it is hot. But hey, it worked on my little one for spitting at people, you know the "ppppllllllll" thing. We only had to do it ONE time, after that, all I had to do is mention Tabasco and that was the end of that!
Good Luck!

Give her a time out every time she does it. If she continues to do it, increase the time she has to stay in time out.
