consistency in punishment. One bite for every bite and if you have to add to that add one of your other punishments. I opt for the hot sauce plus the bite. The kid will learn.

I think this is a stage that he is going through. If you inflict violence back on him (biting back, hitting, etc.) you are only encouraging his biting and teaching him that violence is OK. My question would be when does he bite? Is it during playtime? Is it out of anger? You need to teach him that you don't play that way. That biting is absolutely unacceptable. Tell him "No" in a firm voice. Make sure you look him in the eyes. It has to be in the instant that he does it, since they don't have a long-term memory at this age. Stop playing with him immediately. Put him in a time out, for 2 minutes. (1 minute for each year) I think the most important reason that kids do that is for attention. Negative or positive doesn't matter. When he finds out he gets no attention from you for biting, he will stop.

One best suggestion is, apply some lime or somthing very bitter on the parts where he usually bites..But it should be very bitter like bittergaurd. Repeat this for 3-4 times.. Then tell me the reaction..

Bite him back. Not hard, but enough so he feels it.
I sounds crazy, but I did it to my two year old and she never bit again because she knows how much it hurts.
