Would people believe it if a book came out in Borders and they said it was the word of god?

Your right I cannot prove that it is fiction however there is not a single person out there that can prove that it is word of god. Maybe some of it is true then again people are so dead against the davinci code being true. its kinda funny to me. No one has proven its not true. All I am saying is it is funny people believe what they are told and dont like to think any other way.

Why knock what others are happy with? Why find fault in someone else's happiness? Why not let people enjoy what makes them happy? Questions are a dime a dozen when it comes to the Bible and God. Some believe some don't. So what?

Part of the Bible is a mythology, that is, an explanation of how the world came into being and what happened before mankind. EVERY culture has similar stories. Other portions are a history, which is often supported by archaeological evidence. The New testament is the story of Jesusand the subsequnt work of his disciples. While admittedly it might be hard to "prove" any of this, it comes down to faith. A man posed a question to Abe Lincoln: "suppose you call a tail a leg, would a dog have five legs?" Lincoln replied, "Just because you call a tail a leg, doesn't make it one!" In other words, just you calling the Bible a work of fiction, sure doesn't mean it is... By the way, MOST of the da Vinci Code has been demonstrated to be a hoax (Priory of Sion, etc.). As to the main theme, that Mary Magdalene carried Jesus' child, at the moment, that may be neither proveable nor non-provable.

You got it backwards Honey. The DaVinci code was a fictional book. The Bible covers ALL borders. Oh, and by the way, just to set the record straight, the best selling book of ALL time is the Holy Bible.

Does anyone realize this person has no way of knowing that?

And there is a book that came out in Borders called the Word of God. Better know as the Bible, it is an all-time best seller. Dan Brown's gotta spin a bit more distortions of truth to get anywhere near the Bible's reach.

I realize that the Bible is the Word of God. The Words are God breathed. There could be no other book that could be written by over 40 men over a 2000 year period that has come together in a order of the Bible we have today without God being the author. Psalms 12: 6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.Psalms 12: 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

christians have this funny way of NOT THINKING CRITICALLY
They kinda just beleive any garbage that's fed to them by their local preacher or clergy person.

I have a good laugh hearing an evangelist criticizing and basically dammin to hell a catholic. Failing to realize that the books they read in the bible were picked by the catholic church.

HUMANS wrote the words in the bible.....
and HUMANS decided what books would be in there and which stayed out.

Divine inspiration my ***.....anyone can write pretty words and claim god told them to write.

Fictional? You are deceived. If you only knew what I knew,
you wouldn't think that way. Besides, how would you know?
People, in general, are sinners. Why would such people write a fictional book, telling others not to commit sins? So, it's hardly a fictional book.

The original King James Bible is true,, but the ones who had been altered to 'make it easier to understand in today's modern times' -those are the ones who aren't any good. Not even the New King James Bible counts.
