Don't listen to the "no" answers...they don't understand the ways of the Spirit and don't know what they are talking about.
The answer is yes..".For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries."
(Stay away from the ouija board, I know it may sound fanatical...but, please trust me)

I can not entirely agree with speaking in tongues. Every instance that I find in the Bible says that if someone is to speak in tongues, there should be someone there to interpret the message. It is not to be something that no one can understand. How are you edified by a message you don't undertand. It is like when Pope John Paul II came to St. Louis, MO a few years back. The lesson he gave was in Latin. For what purpose? No one undertood the message, yet everyone came out saying how wonderful it was.
1 Corinthians 14:27 If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
Speaking in tongues (even though I beleive the scripture teaches that those thing have been done away, and were for the purpose of proving the Word in the 1st century), was to be done for edification, and done that others could understand it. In that aspect then, I would say that I do not believe that one who speaks in tongues is filled with the Holy Spirit as the apostles were on the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2.
Acts 2:4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
5 ¶ Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.
6 When this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.
Even in this special case, the languages they spoke were understood by all there in their own language.

it's an interesting theory, but the problem is that christians don't believe in Quija boards and your subconcious has to have even a minimal amount of belief to make it work. Technically Jesus can be channeled if you believe he was just a man. If you believe he was something more than no. But channeling is manely done by witches so why would we bother. You don't channel Gods you commune with them.
Most people who speak in toungues are possessed by good or bad spirits not by gods themselves. I think it shows a spirits sense of humor. As stated above if they were truely speaking in tougues we would be able to understand them. The main instance in the bible where this method is used is when their were several people of different origins there so communication in several different lanuages was needed. In churches today there isn't a need to speak aramic, greek etc is there?

They're not channeling God. Tongues is like a heavenly language, which the Devil can not understand because it is a Heavenly language. Also when you pray in tongues, your spirit is praying for you. Think about it, who's better when it comes to prayer, you or your spirit. Also you can't forget that tongues is a spiritual gift, but I'm not too sure if it's for everyone or for some people.
1 Corinthians 14:1-28
And about the who channeling stuff and board, personally i steer clear from that my main reason, after Saul got stripped from his crown, before he and his son died, He had banned all of the mediums out of Israel . But he disguised him self and sought a medium and woke Samuel's spirit. So Saul and his son, Johnathon, died in the battle. This personally tells me God doesn't want me going to fortune tellers, or awakening spirits. If you want to know how horrible their death was or read the story, check out 1 Samuel 28-31.

When you believe in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross, He died for your sins. The Holy Spirit comes and dwells within you and you become the Temple of God. 1 Corinthians 3: 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? In the age of Grace, the Holy Spirit has sealed you until the day of redemption. Ephesians 4: 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. You can't channel God or Jesus and quija board are of the devil. When you believe and trust in what He did. You are complete in Him. Colossians 2: 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Today we walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) Speaking in tongues are for a sign. 1 Corinthians 14: 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. Tongues have ceased. 1 Corinthians 13: 8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

You don't understand, it is a gift from God and only he can give it to you. I guess you could fake it, but that would still not be the Holy Ghost. You can't speak in a language you don't know, if God didn't give it to you...It even so much more then that, You feel God in your heart, mind, and soul..It is a very special feeling, and the most wonderful in this earth that I have had so far.
The closest way I can explain it to you, is the minute you see your baby come into the world and they put him/her in your arms, that is what the Holy Ghost feels like to me..

I would not say its channeling. I would say the way it was explained to me. WHen someone is speaking in tounges, it is intended that way so that an evil spirited person can not understand. Also sometimes even when someone is speaking in that fashion, no one does the interpretation. It used to scare me when ever I heard it, but after I got an explanation of exactly how it worked, it is very comforting to hear it, even though I do not know exactly what is being said. Sometimes you will hear someone do the interpretion, but we still may not be able to fully know what is being said, only someones interpretion of it.

Receiving the Holy Spirit is a gift. And yes you are talking directly to God. Have you ever heard anyone say to pray for them but it is an "Unspoken" prayer meaning they don't want to say exactly what it is. Well if you pray in tounges then the Holy Spirit knows what that person wants you to pray about and when you pray in tounges you are yeilding your words to the Holy Spirit and the devil can't understand what you are saying.

People do not speak in toungues during moments of "spiritual ecstasy". That is mostly hysteria and a willingness of others, similarly hysterical, to accept babbling as "tongues". Similarly, "channeling" is a scam and people who claim to be able to make "spiritual contacts" have been proven over and over and over again to be fakes in multiple scientifically controlled investigations. Don't waste your time believing in that stuff. Wake up!! Look around you. Be human. Think.

I have my doubts... after I attended a couple of sessions: one was Catholic; the other was Protestant.
Umm... I'd stay clear of that Ouija board if I were you. But then again, that's just me.
Peace be with you!
