A mutt. No inbreeding problems or quirks. I've had purebreds and mutts. Hands (or paws) down to the mutts. They're better conversation starters and if you get them at the pound, they cost a pittance compared to any AKC and will love you more for saving their lives.

My favorite is the Bull Terrier.Mine is a 2 year old female named STORM.She is intelligent and loyal. She is like having a 3 year old kid in a dog suit!!!She barks if she has to but not just to have something to do.Think Target Dog.The breed has a bad rap because the misinformed public thinks of them as Pit Bulls. They are only remotely related,on the terrier side.Best dog ever!!!

My favorite dog breed has to be a tie between a Shih Tzu and a Chihuahua. I own both of these breeds..my Shih Tzu has been the best pet I have ever owned. She is AWESOME with our kids and a very very loyal dog. My Chihuahua is female and she is a tiny sweetheart. She is also great with our children and good with other animals but can be a bit snappy with our Shih Tzu when it comes to feeding time..but other than that she is a GREAT pet as well !

Chinook, because they are very easy going, sweet and great disposition. They can live in small spaces like apartments and are very calm indoors. When they go outside they will hike, run, play with other dogs. They are strong and if you want to skijor (sled) that is what they were bred for. These are awesome dogs. Great with kids, old people, active people. You name it they are ready to go! Check out the web site! http://www.chinook-dogs.org/

An English Cocker Spaniel, because they are friendly, energetic, brave and very lovable. My current English Cocker Spaniel is the 2nd one I have had.

She has enough energy and good stride, so I can walk 2 miles every morning with her. She knows to give me a hug or kiss on command.

My all time in demand breed is the Labrador Retriever (Jasper, Black Lab is largely a colour). I had a chocolate canines and a black b#tch. They were bred really to reproduce. regrettably, Roxanne's clutter died interior her and he or she had to have a "hysterectomy". It broke my heart to have her spayed because she replaced into the form of superb celebration of a Labrador Retriever. Sidney knew a minimum of 40 human beings words. the most folk-eye-catching canines strolling in this earth. I bypass over both one of them extraordinarily lo, those 10 years later.

Catahoula Leopard Hound. Crazy looking, super smart (...perhaps too smart) with undying loyalty and protection to their master. Best friend in the world.
