YES!!! In fact I served in the army (but I know this applies to ALL US military branches) with many people who did not have a US citizenship (and were not looking to GET one) who were in the military. Talk to your local recruiter they will help you go through the proper paperwork, IF you ARE looking to get US Citizenship joining the military can help actually speed up the process, and they encourage it!

Talk to a recruiter. I believe you need a green card. I know that non-US citizens can join. Saw a show just the other day when Immigrant soldiers became USA citizens. It was a moving experience. Even a wife was there who accepted the citizenship for her husband who had died in Iraq ( a soldier).

A non USA citizen could get into the military with a "Permanet Permit of Residency" or "Green Card". Most visas only allow individuals to stay in the country for a limited period of time, while Green Cards allow them to stay and work for a undeterminate time.

Yes, non citizens may join the military. I don't know the exact requirements. I suggest you go see a Navy Recruiter and find out what exactly you have to do. I have just seen on AFN news how there were a large group of non-citizen active duty service members taking the oath of allegiance in a ceremony as they became US citizens.

Yes you can. This comes from a military spouse who personally knows several active duty that are not US citizens. It is actually easier to become a US citizen once you are active duty. There are people that are not US citizens in every branch of our military. You need to just go down and talk with a recruiter. They will be able to help you get all the paper work started.

You don't have to be a citizen to join the Navy, but I you do need to have something more permenent than a VISA. I would talk to a recruiter and see what they reccommend.
There will be quite a bit of restrictions on what jobs you are eligible for (nothing that you would need a clearance for, for example...)

You DO NOT have to be a US citizen to join a service, however you need a green card. With service though you can earn a citizenship quite easily.

Yes, in some cases. Some of the fighting force in Iraq and Afghanistan now are non-citizens. Some have been grated citizenship because they have made such sacrifices for this country.

When I was in the military, I served with non citizens from Canada and Hong Kong. Just ask the recruiter for detail.

I have personally known service members to get their citizenship while already serving in the military. I also know one who got citizenship while stationed over here in Iraq. I can tell you that you will need more than a Visa to join.
