I went to visit an old neighbor and met this boy. He is really friendly and was hanging out with me practically the whole time. He didn't try to get close or anything weird but there was that feeling that he felt something. He is nice he's never done anything seriously wrong. I don't know how the age thing plays into the whole situation. What do i do. Is there too much of an age difference. If i can ask, what are the common age differences in married people and couples dating?

5 years isn't bad when you're older, but right now, you're underage. There's lots that can go bad in that situation. Find someone your own age. UNLESS there is a lot of chemistry and stuff. I mean, he may be the one for you, who knows. But you are definetly young for him now. If you do start anything with him, make sure you go slow. And also be aware, at least in my town, when some girl your age is with a guy that old, she's considered a slut. I mean really, what would a guy who's 19 want with a girl who's that young? Be careful.

Definitely not!

Maybe 50 years ago it may have been okay, but today the laws are stricter. In California, an 18 year old teaching assistant could be arrested just for dating a 16 year old.

If you actually care about the guy and not having him registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life, stay away from him. Or at least wait until you're 18.

Usually people say to try not to do that. A police officer told me and some kids at school one time that a 18 or 19 year old guy shouldn't go out with somebody who is 13 or 14 girl because the guy can go to jail. Like if he does something to you, pressures you, ect. Even if he is a pretty nice guy, just stick to being friends with him and get to know him for a longer amount of time.

No, you should not be hanging out with a 19 year old in a dating
situation. Number !, it is illegal, and Number 2 you are not ready for what that could involve. Stay away-go read a good book, or go to a movie or something-Get a Hobby. You have got plenty of time for dating-later

A 19 year old boy has nothing in common with a 14 year old girl, He should not be thinking about having any type of relationship with you or you with him. Teenage 5 years and adult 5 years at two diffrent things.
If at 19 years old he has nothing better to do than to hang out with a 14 year old, you need to stop and think about what he is after.. He should be at work or in college and you need to worry about getting out of high school.
If you were 19 would you be hanging out with a 14 year old boy.

NO! The 19 year old is too up in age for you. I'm sure he's a great guy and everything but you are too young to be able to make mature decisions like he. Your teen years are extremely crucial and you need time to develop your mind into a yound adult. Also, society will go easy on him because of his age so be aware of that.

5 years isn't a big gap as you get older, but a 14 year old with a 19 year old is totally inappropriate--not to mention against the law. The 2 of you need to find people your own age.

I'd say no. Wait until you are of legal age for a 19 year old. Anyone under 18 dating anyone over 18 would be considered "Jail Bait".

NO YOU STUPID CHILD! GAWD what the F*ck is wrong with you?? JEEZZ what the hell does a 19 year old MAN want with a 14 year old child who prolly just started her rag and growing her **** 2 years ago?? JEEZ!!!!!!!!

Stop doign crack! NOW! This is the age situation.

YOu're young, dumb, and will fall putty into his hands. He's got 5 years on you, he's smarter than you, and knows what he is doing.

NOW! when you are 18 years old and have more life experiance, cool, have him wait for you, but he wont. I say for now, just enjoy being a teenage girl. Jeez.

F*cking kids... arghh.

Don't date him. You're too young. In 5 years, you will be 19 and he will be 24. Maybe things would still work out by then and you'll both be mature enough to understand that.
