I think it's wrong to generalize about an entire group. However, I hear where you are coming from with people being too pushy when it comes to their religion, politics, whatever it may be. Like any other religious group there are going to be fanatics and those individuals that try to push their views on you. It's unfortunate that some people make others want to stay away. I thought like you a while back, but then I came to realize that it's not Christians as a group, it is people that use religious texts to fit what they believe. People that use their own interpretations and then attempt to preach them to everyone. Again though, it's unfair to generalize.

As a former christian... I think that christians feel as though they have to save everybody from eternal damnation. For instance, when I was in elementary school, my best friend was Hindu. Well, I didn't want her to burn in Hell? No! I was scared for her soul, so I HAD to prostelytize. Think of it this way... If you thought everybody was rushing into a lake of fire, wouldn't you try everything you could to push people AWAY from the lake of fire? If not, you wouldn't be a very 'good person'. Well, in Christianity, every person that is unsaved is heading towards that lake of fire, and so they get a little anxious. Also, alot of christians believe if they don't prostelytize, then they are weak in their faith, which means that THEY would go to hell. And if you don't care about others, of course you care about your own soul. So that's just my perspective on why christians can be a little pushy.

Its just certain Christians...Mormons and evangelicals that are really forcefull. From everything I have seen of their organizations it is a high pressure environment and a heavy sale. Especially the evangelical organizations I have seen. There is a huge overtone of fear followed with the egoist self-serving concept of being saved. Once someone considers themself saved it is a huge rush to the ego and the want to share that feeling with as many people as possible.

No, you are not alone. I get several Christian salesmen a week trying to infect me with PMs -as if I've never heard their BS before.
That isn't nearly as bad as the laws they pass to enforce their delusions on everyone else, or the wars they start to kill off the opposition.

No, you aren't alone. I have grown distrustful of christians the people for that reason, mostly. Distrust is NOT the same thing as hate.

No, you're not alone; I totally agree. As a matter of fact, I don't think I could have put it in a more truthful-yet-uninsulting way.

they are too forceful.but from their point of view, they have a whole world of people who arent saved that THEY have to save for the kingdom of God. thats a lot of pressure to put on someone. so they get pushy.

Those are evangelical Christians who do that. There's other groups who are more service oriented and still others who are contemplative.
