I'm a dentist and they call it tooth pate cause you should only be brushing one tooth at a time and brush each quadrant for 1 min total time 4 min.

Possibly because when it was invented people only had one tooth from poor dental hygiene and upon inventing it and naming it toothpaste, people's overall tooth health improved and it was too late to change the name to teethpaste. Just a silly guess!!

Good question. I don't know why, because we all have tooth's, which are in the back, and we all have teeth, which are in the front. It should be called Mouth Paste. LOL
