cheapest time is in fall or spring, followed by winter ..summer is most expensive. Also depends on what location you are going,,but yes Family cruises such as Disney are far more expensive in summer. Although if you book well enough in advance it might still be cheap. Good luck!! Let me know when you take one and how was your experience!

September usually has the lowest prices for Disney/Caribbean cruises. Unfortunately as you have heard in some of the past answers, hurricane season will be in full swing. The odds that you will have bad weather for your trip are about 50/50...The boats are usually able to travel around most of the storms. You might miss a port or two, but don't worry because there are plenty of things to do on board any ship. You might want to buy cancellation insurance in case a major storm approaches or if you just get cold feet.

i believe you will find that Sept or Oct are the cheapest cruises. Of course, this is also hurricane season. Check with a good travel guide, they will help you. As for myself I would never go during the hurricane season. However, I do believe that no cruise ship would ever go anywhere near a hurricane and they do have all of the necessary equipment to know where they are. However scheduling a cruise during this time of year might cause you to miss a spot (because of weather) or might be canceled all together because of weather.

Any month in the fall is good. Sept.-Nov. The weather is warm but not hot and it is the cheapest season. Depending on the price you want to pay. Disney will be the more expensive but your son will have the time of his life. If you want the least expensive one, try Carnival and they do have programs for children. You can get a really inexpensive one if you book it a good while out from when you are going to take it. Example: my husband and I are going on one the 17th of Sept. and I booked it in Feb. A 7 day cruise on Carnival going out of Miami. Ports of call: Costa Maya, Mexico; Belize City, Belize; Isla Roatan, Honduras; Grand Cayman Islands. We got it for the price of $479/person. Total price with taxes and port charges.

Any time during the off season. The cheapest rates are generally offered during the hurricane season. With cruises, the further out you book, the lower your rates are going to be.
Also, you should look into a travel agent. My agent almost always saves me money over what I could book on my own.

For most cruiselines anytime the kids are in school rates go down. They are even less October through March because most of the ships winter in Florida and families are not yet traveling except for the Holidays. However Disney traditionaly lowers their rates in Sept and Jan. only

You wont find any bargains during summer vacation period or around major holiday periods like Christmas or New years or Easter. Most likely February thru May and September, October & November and beginning of December. Check the travel section of your newpaper fro deals on Mexican Riviara, Alaska, & Caribbean.
