You have to think about the upkeep. When you go totally blonde, you HAVE to keep up with the roots every 3-4 weeks. If you get beyond 1/2 inch outgrowth, you can end up with gold "bands" in your hair that look very unattractive and make it look pretty obvious that you are coloring your hair blonde. Upkeep is a HUGE issue. I did the blonde thing for about 5 months and couldn't stand it anymore, because my hair grew so fast, I had to touch up every 3 weeks, and after awhile I got so sick of "the burn" feeling as it was processing, i had to quit. Just couldn't take it anymore.

IF your hair is short and a cute funky cut, you can get away with some root showing and it looks like it is supposed to be that way. BUT again, don't go beyond a 1/2 inch outgrowth. Your scalp has a natural heat zone the first 1/2 inch of hair. When you are coloring/lightening your hair you use that 1/2 inch zone to your benefit. Beyond the 1/2 inch, your body heat doesn't affect as much, so the color processes slower or differently above the first 1/2 inch. That is why you can get gold bands in your hair, and they can be a bugger to get out!

I would suggest doing highlights. Just remember, the MORE highlights you go, the SOONER you'll notice outgrowth.

Don't worry so much about the brow thing. It looks really weird if people dye blonde and then dye their eyebrows blonde as well. TRUST me on this!!! I've seen some weird looking stuff over the years! MANY people who dye their brows blonde wish they never would have and end up dying them back. Eyebrows tie in the whole face. When you can't see them, it makes it look like your forehead is not balanced or proportioned with your face. It can wash you out really bad.

Eye color and skin tone can be an issue as well. If you're a brunette with light eyes, you'd be able to carry it off pretty well. If you have brown eyes, but more light to medium skin tone, you'd be able to pull it off as well.

Good luck with whatever you choose. Just please get it done professionally. Color corrections are SO expensive. Get it done right the first time.

Yeah, your hair color isnt too darkish and that i understand human beings whove gone from a darker brown to bleach blonde hair. are you employing bleach or in reality huge-spread hair dye? i wouldnt recommend bleach with the aid of actual truth it damages hair particularly, yet get a 10 or a 12 from a attractiveness salon save with a volume of about 30 and dye it, it ought to come out the shape you want it(:

I am a hair stylist. So for one thing, you must keep in mind the upkeep of coloring your hair. I personally would suggest hilites because its less obvious when your hair grows out, you wont see a solid line down your head when it grows out like you would an all over color. Doing hilites gives you more dimention to your hair and if you go the right person who does it then you should have not one reason for them to turn out "Ugly." I hate when people say that, but just keep in mind that you cant temporaily color your hair blonde. You can temp color it darker but not lighter. Good luck to you....

Before dying your hair permanently, you should first try a glaze or temporary color. Ir you like or feel it is you, GO FOR IT! They say blondes have more fun but some say brunette is the way to go and whatever you do, GOOD LUCK! MayMay

If you have dark brown hari I woudlnt dye it completely blonde. Maybe just do some blonde and honey toned highlights and lowlights. If your hair if more light brown right now then going to a darker shade of blinde might be cute!

I color my brunette hair blonde and touch up every 4-6 weeks. a couple months ago i dyed it very close to my natural color. It didn't take long to go blonde again! Blondes get more looks from everyone, everywhere. try it! you can ALWAYS change it back.

If you color your hair blonde you will have to redo it once a month unless you want ugly roots. You will also hair damaged hair and it will be way more noticeable. Just be yourself. Try some highlights or low lights

I always think natural hair looks the best, but if you really want to, I'd suggest a wash-out dye first to see if you like it.

Cheers!

Is your hair long? Are you prepared to do the touch ups every few weeks that are necessary? Are you ready for the damage it will cause your hair? If you can handle these things you are ready.
