Itchy down there, too moist, with white residue. Hot feeling (not in a nice way). I hear plain yogurt is a good home remedy. I haven't had one in forever, but last time I used monistat 3 (I don't trust the 1 day, and 7 days is too long). Good luck with that ;-)

While the posters are indeed correct about the itching and burning, most women 75% in America are familiar with yeast infections as vaginitis.
Yeast also manifests as athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, thrush, rashes and other symptoms.
Yeast finds fertile ground in persons who eat a lot of carbohydrates, or have "sweet" bodies, like diabetics and pre-diabetics. These people are the ones who are more likely to contract the systemic yeast infection.
A doctor can diagnose vaginitis from its symptoms. However, if you have a more serious condition, you would have to find a doctor that believes a person can have a systemic yeast infection.

The symptoms can be a localized intense itching or burning. That doesn't always happen, but sometimes the itching can be really bad. You will have a discharge that can be thin and clear or yellow to a thick, white, clumpy nasty mess that looks kinda like ricotta cheese. And it will smell like yeast.
When in doubt, have it checked out by a physician.

Along with the itching and burning many women will have a cottage cheese type discharge. There are many OTC remedies that help. Also, try wearing cotton underwear to prevent a recurrence.

severity of symptoms like cottage cheese-like discharge and itch can vary. you can try to self treat with and OTC product. if that doesn't fix your symptoms or if you have recurrent symptoms you should see your doctor. recurrent yeast infections is a sign of possible diabetes. if you have frequent or recurrent, get checked for diabetes and get it under control. that will improve your health prognosis as well as recude your incidence of yeast infections.
