On Star Trek, The Next Generation, Data has an orange tabby by the name of Spot. At first Spot was a male, than somewhere along the line, became a female and had a litter.

There is a cat on the Enterprise on Star Trek Next Generation. His name is Spot and he's Data's cat.

Actually, in some of the stories in TREK fanzines, there are cats on the Enterprise...
Conversely, though they were never seen on any of the episodes, that may just reflect the fact that they weren't relevant to the plot line. There may well have been cats on the Enterprise, and we just didn't see 'em.
In fine: because none of the plots needed a cat on the Enterprise, that's why.

the cats had their own version of star trek it waas called meaw trek and star trek guys did not like competetion

there were cats on the Enterprise, "Data" had a cat named "Spot" on board and tried to teach it to talk!

Maybe they didn't like the Tribbles. But Data on Next Generation did have Spot, although I would have named him Garfield.

there are what do you think the food replicators use to make all the meals. By the way there was one cat "spot" belonged to Data
