If you want to tone thighs it's best to elongate the muscles so that the muscles and area look leaner rather than bulkier.

You would need to do Pilates and/or Yoga for this purpose.

I would say start out walking, but......If this is what you're going to try to do then you need to really be determined and willing. You have to try to walk faster than a comfortable pace. It's always good to walk.. period, however, if you can walk fast and then work up to be able to jog and then to run then you will lose weight much faster and improve your heart rate and improve how you feel overall. YOU CAN DO IT! Good Luck and stick with it

lay on your side and do legs lifts, and then move your leg in a small circle, do for 3 min. and switch.
Lunges are also helpful.
