Well, in a sense God did forgive them. He just didn't take away the penalty for their disobedience. They were supposed to die on the day they ate from that tree but instead God gave them a prophecy about the defeat of the Devil and made clothes for them.
Genesis 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
That's pretty cool of Him I'd say! God doesn't take away the earthly consequences of our behavior when we sin, but He does promise us redemption through his Son and He does provide for our needs despite our disobedience.

God did Forgive/He sent His only son,Jesus Christ(GOD) to die on the cross and open heaven to us-gave mankind back their immortality for man was not meant to die and cease to exist. God also stresses Being Accountable and Consequences to ones actions. The mess the wold is in right now is all about wrong choices esp.disregarding the bible-by holding Adam and Eve responsible He didn't take away choice/free will-from us just as He didn't from Adam and Eve.

Remember, Adam and Eve were first! If they had not disobeyed God, there would never have been a need for forgiveness in the first place. God has given us many legs to stand on, but the true nature of man is to be hardheaded, we have Adam and Eve to thank for that!!!

He did forgive Adam and Eve. He clothed them, and took care of them, they just were not allowed back in the garden.

He did forgive them. But there still had to be a punishment remember God said "If you eat of it you will die". Just like I do my children when they disobey me, God had to do what He said. To day if I tell my children not to do something or such and such will happen, you better believe if they go ahead and do it they know their punishment is waiting

They were not allowed back in the garden because the tree of life was there. The wages of sin is death. If they keep eating from the tree of life they would go on living.

If they didn't take the apple, we wouldn't be born with original sin..if we weren't born with original sin we'd all be robots created by God the Scientist with no free will.
