I've wondered that myself. Sometimes sex was really great, but when I was voluntarily celibate for 7 years, I got so much more done.
I worked on my college degree along with a few technical diplomas. All this while working full time. Life seemed so fulfilling. But then I became involved with women again and it seemed like I never had enough time to do much of anything.
Sometimes I wonder if remaining a virgin wouldn't have been a better option. I also really only wanted to try sex out of curiosity to see what all the talk was about.
The Shakers had a celibate lifestyle and are well known for their fantastic accomplishments. Yet because they were celibate, the Shakers are almost extinct as a group.

The world would do well without those who are obsessed with sex and those who hurt other people because of it. For those who are in love, however, of course they would not do beter without.
