I live with roommates and it's ok. We all share cooking so it's good in that sense. What really bothers me is that one of them really makes noises when he chews his food. It drives me nuts when he does that. How many of you live with somebody like that?

Oh man......my mom used to do that! She did this little rub her tongue with the food over the roof of her mouth action. **shudders** It drove me nuts. I swear I could take fingernails down a chalkboard 10 times more than I could take this sound. But hey........let's look at the positive side for a minute. It kept dinner time conversation going. I had to keep talking just to cover up the sound I was hearing. I ate slower because of that. So as a result of eating slower.......I lost weight! See how we can turn this into a positive experience? If this doesn't work for you......take the advice given to me by a fine answerer not long ago: If he doesn't notice he's making this sound, smack him across the face with your sauce pan after frying eggplants on it.

enjoy! :)

Yes, that is something very very annoying.
It could also be a cultural thing; that is how some other cultures eat...smacking the food.
Pointing that annoyance out to that person might make them self-conscious.
Perhaps it is not something that was ever told him. Perhaps that is how he ate at home.
Honestly, I don't know if you should talk to that person or not. On the other hand, you could be doing him a huge favor too. If he is out in society later on, it might be that he was grateful for you mentioning this.
Depends on how well you know this person and how they will react.

I have someone at work doing that same thing and it drives me nuts. At this point, I will endure it.....it really isn't that important.

My boyfriend smacks really REALLY loud and it gets on my nerves so bad! He says that since he has a double cleft lip, he can't breath through his nose. But, it still unnerves me!

Do the same thing in his presence...but 10 times louder.
If he says something...have a talk.
