I don't think that you necessarily should rule out babysitting. When I was a kid, I had a boy babysit my sister and me a few times. My mom more recently (a few years ago) had the son of friend babysit for my little brother and sister. He was a good kid and did a great job! Ask your parents if they have any friends with kids and let them know that you are interested. It is really the best way to make money at your age.
Cutting the grass is a good idea too! When I had a lawn, I paid a 14 year old (son of a friend of mine) $20 to cut the grass for me. It only took him about 45 minutes. I had a lawnmower he could use, so if you had your own, you could probably charge even more. Do you have experience?
Also, ask your parents if they have any projects (beyond your regular chores) that they would be willing to pay you to do, like home improvement stuff.

first ask you parents if they're willing to give you an allowance for some chores around the house. then ask your neighbors if they need any mowing or other yardwork done... elderly around your neighborhood would especially love your help. but do be careful because there are some psychos out there...so be watchful for them. keep mace in your pocket...and tell your parents if you feel uncomfortable with a certain neighbor you encounter.

Make yourself available to people you know, and inform them you are willing to do odd jobs. Depending on where you live, you can probably find varous things from the standard yardwork, babysitting, etc, to not-so-typical things like dragging people's laundry to the laundromat, or sewing costumes for a play.

babysitting is a good racket..my sons did it. they took the red cross course and learned first aid. they also took out trash, mowed and raked, shoveled, ran errands, helped an older neighbor shop, baked for christmas, the best places to go are businesses and senior areas as they can help. also car lots will sometimes pay u to help wash cars. my sons held up signs for a furniture store in blizzard weather with their friends a couple of times. they also shoveled in front of a pizzaria got free pizza and some loot. good luck

Why rule out babysitting? I would think you might actually enjoy it, providing the kiddos aren't infants or toddlers. You seem like a brainiac. Tutoring may be the way to go.

I think a paper route would be a excellent way for you to earn extra pocket change. Walking a neighbors dog would be another good way to earn extra pocket change.

If you know a family friend or relative with their own business you can help them by cleaning. Running errons (to the store-drugstore).Ask mom and dad for a few extra bucks will help out
too.
