I am a korean and went to its school for quiet some time
in the school i used to go, if you just throw away something and leave a trash in the school property, and the teacher sees you, you get whipped on the leg 10 times with a long stick and if you throw up , you got to clean it and if you did it, you better do it or 1 hour of holdinga big wooden chair or the WHIP
Koreans also use this as punishment instead of detention
i think this is the order, Gets nagged, whipped or holding chair 1 hour, sent to principle, principle gives long talk and calls your parents, clean the school, get whipped by your parents, cry yourself to sleep

I agree, all kids should learn discipline and help out, but this would put a lot of people out of jobs. If every child, in every school, across the country did their part to keep school property clean during their time there, the janitors jobs wouldn't be so hard. This also teaches children, everyone can do their part, litter hurts everyone.

That is a great idea!!! Some schools already have that concept here in the U.S. I am from GA and throughout my middle and high school term, when a student gets into trouble and is sent to detention, their detention is cleaning the school building, which is a great idea! Not only does it keep students in tact, but it also keeps the school clean and presentable!

well i know some schools do have weekend detention which includes school wide cleanup. But the plan is that while they are cleaning there has to be a teacher or adult there to watch them who will that be? Also will they clean after school or during school? And is it only when they get in trouble or everyone joins in the fun?

I think that if the kids cleaned up after themselves and kept the school clean, they would have mush more pride in their school. It never hurts to work and the saatisfaction of a job well done is worth more than words.

i think this is a wonderful idea. many kids today have absolutely no respect for other peoples property, or for other people. this would teach some responsibility and also save the school districts some money they could then pay to their teachers

I don't let the janitor come in my classroom, I make the students do it all. We have a sign up sheet and the kids each have a job to do each day. They love it, it gives them more of a feeling that it is "THEIR" classroom, and they are proud to have people come in and see how responsible they are. It carries over into their school-work, pride in accomplishment.

yes, it would help the school system, and plus they probably dont have janitors, or money to pay people to clean the school, so its the kids job.
