The devil is trying so hard to make sure that people reject God and his ultimate story / love letter to us. Atheism, whether folks want to admit it or not, is a religion as well. I love your binary code there!

"Why do people say the the bible is fake?"

Because it's not based on fact, which makes it a fictitious book.

"Many Historians proved Jesus' existance"

Really? Where's the proof then?

"There are many prophesies that have occured and occuring today that have proven bible prophesies correct and true"

Wrong. If ALL of what is said in the Bible came true, you would have a point. Some of them coming true over so many years doesn't mean anything except coincidence. I could write a book saying there would be a forest fire in the next 1000 years. If there's a forest fire, did it happen because I said it would? No, it was a coincidence.

"If so many people believe in it, it has to be true"

Also wrong. Almost everyone, if not everyone, used to think the world earth was flat, does that mean it's true? No, and it wasn't.

"What is atheism but people sitting around and "enjoying" life"

Atheism: A lack of belief in the existence of God or gods.
It has nothing to do with sitting around and enjoying life.

"i enjoy life just as great and am not suicidal like people with other beliefs"

What's your point? There are suicidal people of all beliefs or lack of beliefs.

The bible is real, its a history book with many true occurrences and real events. However you have to look at the fact that a lot of it was written about 100 years after Jesus. In that age that's about 4 generations of people meaning that the stories could have changed, while the historical fact stayed the same. Almost all of the prophesies that have come true are debatable because they don't actually say what is going to happen, they just say that something will happen, for example the bible might say that a great war will happen in the future. Well it certainly did happen as it was inevitably going to happen.
You really cant believe it just cause so many other people do, cause more people believe in the Koran than do the bible, so technically if you go by that fact then you need to read up on your Koran a bit more.
And what are you going on about suicide for? No religion says that we should commit suicide (people interpret it that way sometimes).
So ya, the bible is true, but I think that most of the miracles and things are metaphorical.

Because the concept of one God creating everything, coming to earth to save His creation, and punishing those that do not follow Him with a place called Hell, where there is eternal fire and suffering, is too fantastical for some to believe.

And actually, the "incest" rule didn't come into play until the time of Moses, when the human race had time to degenerate enough that marrying a close relative would be completely counterproductive. There's a lot of biology involved in that. The first man and woman were made perfect. Marrying a sibling would have been no big deal. Over time, however, dna/genes/etc had degenerated enough that it would be a big deal. Hence, the law against incest.

I'm sure there were other factors involved in the making of the law, such as the inquenchible lust of mankind and the like.

If god created man as in the bible about 8,000 years ago, believed by most Christians then why was the first religion polytheistic. The bible is given credibility because it was written a long time ago, according to this way of thinking if I write some historical facts and some other crap people will base a belief system around it. I am sorry I only respect people of faith that have actually questioned, researched, and eventually returned to their faith.

That's why people try to spread their religion to as many other people as they can, because if every one is doing it, it must be right! Just because every one is doing something doesn't make it right!

The bible was written hundreds of years after Jesus died and King James altered the Bible to appease his own interests, mainly control of his subjects.

Atheism is the opposite of theism, it is just as much a religion as Christianity because it still relies on a belief system. There are non-suicidal people out there that don't need any "ism's" to enjoy life!

First off I am not a religious person and do not intend to offend anyone with my beliefs or change anyone's mind about how they should feel. With that said, I question why the bible is so special. How do we know it was not just a novel written by someone many many years ago? Yes many prophecies have come true, but I am sure you can take any book, read enough into it's meanings and compare that to actual events.

The books that are commonly called "the bible" were written obviously in ancient times. There is solid proof that these books were changed in the past to conform to what was the whims of those in power. They also eliminated other books, who knows how many. Much of this is coming into focus in recent years. Other books/gospels that were kept out of "the bible" are the gospels of Mary, Judas, and others.

Ok, here is my deal with the bible. 1. most of the stories have a counter part in text from other religions that was written long before the Hebrew's had a written language. 2. One guy got to sort through all the text and gospels at were written at that time and pick out which ones were "ok" for us to read. Those are my 2 biggest beefs with the christian bible.

Well, where are the dinosaurs in the bible? How did we all get here if incest is against God? Not only a point with Adam and Eve, but also when Noah and his family repopulated the earth, right? Some things are not believeable, and some are, I think it's your own personal view. Also, how come ALL Christian holidays are centered around Pagan holidays of old?

The Bible was put together by religious people. I'm sure they put what they wanted in it and left out parts they didn't agree with. They are continually finding new scrolls and information still to this day. Who says that they aren't meant to be part of the Bible?
Long ago, religion was used to control the people. After all, most people were ill-educated at the time and couldn't read for themselves. They had to rely on the clergy for learning.
