I'l Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. I never got tired of reading this story to my grandson. It tells of a mother's love for her child and how she cares for her son.As the mother ages so does her son. Theson , now a man must care for his elderly mother . Just a very touching short story about the love between a parent and child told as only Robert Munsch can.

I LOVE "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" by Mo Willems...but it's really more for preschool and kindergarten-aged kids, they love it. For younger children, you can't go wrong with something like "Good Night Moon", "Guess How Much I Love You", "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" or "Where the Wild Things Are". Stick with the classics. Better yet, go to the library and they will have an entire section of books meant for small children. Librarians can be a wealth of information as far as which books are must-reads for children of a certain age (at my local library they have pages printed out for different age levels that recommend certain books).

"Alexander and The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day" By Judith Viorst.
It was my very favorite book when I was young girl (about 3 to 4 years old). It's all about Alexander, who's having a horrible day where everything goes wrong. It's funny and reminds us that days like that come to everyone.
