Philippines - it has everything that Thailand, Australia,and Italy can offer.
=Thailand's beaches and diving suck when compared to the Phils.
=There are many Caucasians (esp. Americans and Europeans) in the Phils. you don't even need to visit Australia. There are also deserts in the Phils.
=The culture and architecture of the Phils. are undoubtedly Latin/Hispanic, which is similar to Italy.

Australia, because I have never been there, it will be the most difficult place to get to and I have several friends who have been there and raved about it. following that the Philippines and Thailand would also be cool. I've already been to Italy, but it would be nice to go back again one day

I've come across many comments on the net. One thing that is really common to see is that Filipino compared their countries to other countries out of nothing and said they are better. Take Matt's post for example. While you'll find few to none of their neighbors, MY, TH, IN, etc. compared their country to PI.
Of cause it's not all of Filipino, but most do. You can search articles/forums and see with your own eyes for what I've said. They have really high crab mentality.
I don't know about you but to me, what Filipino do is unwise and show that they are narrow mind.
If you have a friend, do you want to have a friend who has this mentality? Decide for yourself.

Southern Italy - around Sorrento - I prefer the
Music and the Food.\ and the scenery.

most likely italy, only because i love italian food, but i wouldnt visit the philipines, because i heard its really bad over there, but thats just me. =]

Italy, is closer and its culture and arquitecture are just amazing, plus is sooo romantc.
