The vet has asked me to give my Pomeranian PLAIN yogurt, a couple of tsp. at a time, to help his kidney function. Poor little guy is getting old - 13 now. At any rate, yogurt is OK as long as it's not flavored. Pudding for a large dog is OK as long as it isn't chocolate. Chocolate kinda poisons a dog's system.

Yogurt is a lot better than pudding, that is for sure. Anything new to your dog can cause gastrointestinal upset (diarrhea usually). So, you should only give a tiny amount the first day and see what happens. You can increase the amount gradually as long as things are going well (ie. no diarrhea). Most likely you will do fine as long as the yogurt is not loaded with other things and as long as you stick to the same yogurt all the time. Dogs have stomachs and intestines that do not like change very much and some dogs just can't tolerate certain things just like in people. Go ahead and try you'll probably do fine.

well pudding is full of sugar so no good. as for yogurt dogs are naturally lactose intolerant so you might cause diarrhea and an upset stomach but i know some people whose dogs have rock solid stomachs and use yogurt to hide medications and give small amounts for snacks (no more than like 2 tbsp at a time though)

Sugarless, plain yogurt is actually very good for them in small amounts. It's often recommended that you give this to them after they've been on antibiotics for any length of time to restore the good bacteria to their system. Pudding isn't so good as dogs do experience dental decay from sugar just like we do. So, sure!! Give your dog a bit of plain yogurt as a treat! Just a small amount or you may see changes in their stools.

the problem with pudding is, if it is chocolate your dog will probably get worms. Worms are expensive to fix and not something you want in your yard, they are also contagious to other animals in the house or outside. The problem with yogurt is that domestic animals such as cats and dogs are lactose intolerant and it could cause upsets stomachs and diarrhea

Vanilla yogurt should be fine but give only once in while. Stay away from chocolate pudding because chocolate is poison to dogs.

I don't think that would be good for them cause their digestive system isn't like ours. Especially don't give dogs chocolate! that's a no-no , and among other things causes breathing problems. You can give them "Carob" things though, carob is a almost like chocolate, and carob is put into all kinds of dog things , from wormer medicine to treats.

Yogurt is good. Get the plain or vanilla yogurt. Give a spoonful at a time. Cottage cheese and regular cheese are good too.

A small amount of dairy is good, use the Fat free stuff because the fat in processed products is not good for your pet.
a little cheese is a good thing to feed your dog.

You should not give as a regular snack. If you want to give her a treat... tuna. veggies
things like that. Our dog LOVES baby carrots. it is hard when they look up at you with those big eyes.
DO NOT EVER give them chocolate, onions,
rasins, grapes or things with unknown spices in them.
