Are there more guys than girls in the United State?

It seems like there are more single guys than single women. When I talk to a young woman, she tells me that she has many guy friends seeking her attention, but when I talk to the guys they indicate that they do not have as many girls seeking their affection.
From my personal online dating excperience with Yahoo personals and other sites, it seem very difficult to get the attention of a young beautiful single woman. After writing over 50 letters, none reply. I managed to get one of them to answer me on different site. I asked them, how many emails do you get a day on average, she said 5 to 7 a day and she does not check her email every day. She said that she does not answer most of them.
How come we guys don't get 5 to 7 emails from girls every day? thats a problem I'd like to have. There must be more men than women out there. The ratio seems like 70 women for every 100 men?

Well for starters, i am a single female. i hardly ever get e-mails from guys that are interested in more than just one thing. It is hard to weed those out, except for their user-name. When you read a profile, you wonder if they are saying the truth or just leading you into something they can not deliver or mean. On-line communications let people be who they want to be without any consequences, as long as they never meet.

i know alot of single women but since guys can be asswholes they probably are more single than women

no online dating services are shitty. you won't get anywhere with them. try meeting someone in real life and don't rely on some shitty computer to do your work for you.
