Everyone wants to feel loved and important. Dogs survival instints cause them to behave in a way perfectly fullfills both of those needs. People like "loyality" for example. Dogs are designed by nature to "be loyal". In their natural habitat their very life often depends on standing by the other members of the pack, especially the higher ranking members (the ones that have proven to provide food, shelter, safety and leadership.

I don't KNOW, but I have a guess. Dogs respond to your voice, not to the words you are saying, so they are like mirrors of your feelings. It's nice to be with someone who has no opinion of his/her own. When you're happy, your dog will play, and when you just want to sit and stew over something, your dog will sit with you while you figure things out. Dogs always greet you at the door. Dogs can be taught to do things to help you. They let you touch them, and touching something that is warm and "alive" is a very primitive need.

People like dogs because they have a social structure similar to humans. They have a social hierarchy, with strictly enforced rules of behavior. For a dog, to fit in with the pack means you will stay alive. The romantic notion of the "lone wolf" is wrong - an animal who breaks the pack rules and is exiled will die soon. Because your dog believes you are the pack leader, they are eager to please you and are able to read your verbal and non-verbal cues regarding your emotions. This makes them a great companion.

People like dogs for several reasons...many already listed..
Poeple like to play...talk to something...see someone get excited when they come home.. someone to snuggle with ...
Dogs are care givers too they know when we are sick..feel bad.. had a hard day at work...
DOgs are family ..our dog the more you include her the better she is...more loyal dependable.. obediant..

They posess and willingly demonstrate all of the qualities that most humans do not have, let alone even understand. My miniature schnauzer is the best friend I have ever had...he has given me eleven years of total devotion, sincere love, and many happy memories. Get yourself a dog, and you won't regret it!!!

Because dogs love us when we are stinky, angry, sleepy, playing, running, anything. No person would ever put up with what dogs go through and still love us, and welcome us home like we were there best friend every single day.

people like dogs cause that is there desion and u can train them play with them there r like your kids and u can not train a cat or a hamster well mambey but it will be hard 2 train them

They are a loving pet. They will give you someone to cry on and they are VERY loyal. I have 2 labs (a black lab female named Jazzmin and a yellow lab female named Jessie) and I would NEVER want to leave them !

some people like dog because its like having a baby... they ,he/she may not be able to have children...
