A couple of possible reasons. If the guy is interested there is an unspoken of three day rule that is supposed to remove all suspicion of neediness. This is meant to help attract the girl further. Another reason is that the guy is inexperienced and does not have the guts to call. The last reason is that the guy was just fooling around and got the number as en ego boost--never planning on calling.

Because guys have no sense of time, if I say be back in a little while it could mean 3 hrs or 9 hrs, guys minds change all the time, from one second to the next. Guys don't mature until a lot later than girls, their bodies and brains, brains mostly don't mature until about mid 20's. That's a fact. Girls rely more on emotions, gut feeling, senses. Guys have a don't care if it happens it happens sentiment about them, they don't see a time crisis like girls, don't call, crisis says girl, maybe nothing wrong.

Because they know that the longer they wait to call you the more control over your mind they obtain. They know you are thinking "How come he hasn't called me back yet?" "Does he think I'm fat etc.". The best defense against this is to not worry about whether a boy is gonna get back with you or not. Go ahead and investigate other men. When a guy sees you doing that he will put some pep in his step because he'll think he's gonna lose you to somebody else. Now you are controlling his mind. Don't tell the guys I let you in on the secret!

Not all guys are like that. However, for the guys who are, there could be plenty of reasons. The only piece of advice I can give you that nobody else did is that if you really care about a guy, and he is taking too long (in your perspective) to get back to you, just be patient and wait for him. If it doesn't work out, then it doesn't. If it does, then it does.

Perhaps it's about doubt or uncertainty - whether or not to pursue the possibility of a relationship. I think this depends on age, as when very young, taking ANY sort of action at all is like the threat of `committment' - that dreaded word!!

Boys take a long time to get back to girls cuz they tryin to find a way to not talk to you.its a way to break up.

If you mean it how I think as in phone calls and stuff then some guys, to make the girl nervous maybe? Maybe to make it seem like they aren't obsessed? Basically all the same reasons some girls (like me...) don't get back to guys quickly sometimes.

Because they are shy and they do not know what to say to them. And the are afraid of rejection from the woman or if they are going to say no. Or does she really like me in that wayl

Thats the first thing boys learn when dating..They think if they seem to eager the girl wouldn't be interrested..They have it backwards.
