I want to build up my pex. I am a great runner and did a 6:31 mile in 8th grade and was touching the ten foot court rim in eighth graed also. Believe it or not it's true. I want to build up my leg strength. Something other than weight lifting... And steroids.

I suggest you stand at the edge of a curb or stand against a wall. Stand straight and lift your whole body with your tippy toes. First do your left leg and just have your toes lift you up and down. You should feel the burn in your calves. And then do your right leg. Do reps of 10 each. Afterwards, work your thigh muscles by standing with your feet at shoulder width. Bend your knees with your feet planted flat and go up and down. This should work your butt and thighs, all of which are great for building up leg strength.

Jumping, squatting, stair climbing, anything to get your legs pumping. More running will also do the trick. Get a stretchy band from an excercise store and work on stretching your legs out so your body will better handle the new muscle and keep the acids cleaned out.

Also give it time. Muscle takes time to build, and don't try to build muscle every day. You need to have at least one rest day during the week. When you work your muscles, it causes little tears that heal during your rest period. Those healed areas are built muscle. So do your excercises, rest, eat right, and watch for results!

For starters you do not need to run as much, that will slow down muscle bulk. You need alot of protein and some heavy weight resistance training. For leg strength you can jump rope and do calf raises.

Hit the gym at school - concentrating on your legs and thighs - Also, protein after strength training helps in building muscle.

Protein, protein, etc....

If leg strength is your goal, try running stairs or bicycling.

Something other than weight lifting for pecs? That's tougher, for sure. If you lived in the country, I'd say driving fence posts! Great for pecs, deltoids, etc.....

I would think that you should eat more fiber. Fiber is a type of food that lets you not eat so much. It lets you go without eating for a long day so eat fiber like: broccoli or fruits. I would say u should eat more BBQ food to (no steak or ribs) like chicken or
seafood.
