I was wondering how long the period of time is between when the DMV first takes your driver's license picture and when they ask you to come in and take a new one. (I am interested in the DMV asking ME to come in an take a new picture- Not having to schedule taking a new picture for my own personal benefit.) I have a really bad picture, but it's not worth making an appointment with the DMV just for vanity purposes...

They usually don't ask you to come in to take a new picture unless you've changed ages drastically or if your situation has changed, like turning 21, when you still have your license when you were 16. At any rate, it's rare that they ask you to come in. It's best to just make an appointment.

It takes about 10 business days for it to arrive in the mail. My picture is terrible but I don't have the patience to get it re-done.
