I have a nice Turkish blanket that I used to keep drapped over the top of my old couch. My new couch is leather, and the blanket keeps sliding off. What's the best way to get it to stay?

I don't want to do anything that would damage the couch! No staples, pins, etc!

I also tried pushing the couch against the wall, but the contact is not uniform and eventually the blanket still slips off. It falls of the back too, which means I have to pull the couch out to retrieve it each time.

Use the stuff that you put under rugs to make them not slip or the stuff you use to line the inside of your kitchen cabinets. You can buy it in different sizes at walmart and then cut it down to the size you need.

I've got the perfect solution for you that won't harm your couch or blanket! Grip Clips are excellent for that sort of thing and won't damage your couch or blanket in any way! Just use two and some cording of some kind to anchor the blanket to the back of the couch (I'd attach the cord to the legs...You'll figure it out) to keep it from falling forward.

I use my Grip Clips for my sheets, tarps, everything! They really are a Godsend....You can even paint them and the cord you plan on using to match the couch so that it isn't an eyesore...

Good luck!

P.S. If you don't want to spend the extra money on the Clips then go get a couple of small gator clips and tie them to the cord and do the same thing. I just recommended the Gator Clips because I KNOW they won't damage your fabric in any way. I can't say the same thing for gator clips...Perhaps you could pad them and they would work? Just a thought...

There is a product that comes in a roll, usually merchandised with drawer/cupboard paper rolls in the aisles with the kitchen/home stuff/plastic storage (like at Target, Kmart, etc.) It is a rubbery, waffle-like material. You can cut it with scissors to fit. I would cut a strip, or several and tack it to the underside of the blanket where it rests on the top of the couch. It will prevent it from sliding. If you'd like, you could tack it to the blanket with a few small stitches with needle and thread. If you work with the weave of the blanket, the stitches should be removeable without damage to the blanket. This product also works well under small throw rugs to prevent slipping. Good Luck!

Try a piece of the waffle rubber sheets used to keep scatter rugs from slipping. It might hold a little better. Leather is hard to work with but you don't want to make any holes. If rubber doesn't work how about a some adhesive attached to a part of the blanket and on the back of the sofa? Make sure it doesn't leave tape marks.

Go to a floorcovering store. Some, most, carry a very thin non_slip underlayment for rugs.
This does not have to be attached to anything. If you care to, it could be taped to the back of blanket. It will "grab" the leather and the blanket. This should work for you.

Leave it opened up and drape as much over the back as over the front. Otherwise you have two incompatible materials so hang the blanket on the wall to display it and settle for pillows on the couch.

Pin it to the back seem or use a stick on type of velcro for the couch ans sew the other side of the velcro to the blanket.
