It depends on how long this "eating habit" of your friend has been going on. You know what has 100 calories? 2 packs of sugar free jello gelatine and 2 leaves of salad, and you got 100 calories. The body does need protein(for muscles), carbohydrates(for energy), nutirients-such as minerals to keep our bones in shape, to keep our blood cells from renewing, etc.etc. So if your friend eats that little, then she is depriving her body of essential vitamins and minerals--sounds to me like she would like to lose weight and is getting obsessed with it, which means if she does not have an eating disorder yet---she is well on her way to get one. Talk to her....Good Luck

Yes, as all the answers indicated its an ED but remember she doesn't see it that way and you cannot force her to see help for it. Just watch her health cuz she can have a heart attack for all the exercise with no fuel to keep it going. She's going to eventually go into a body shock. An average fruit is about 40 so if she's just nibbles than she thinks its okay but we all know an average food item is over 100 calories. ED is a tough mental illness so just be supportive but if it goes on an longer I would report her to a doctor. She needs help.

100 calories a day is way under an advised amount. The skinniest person should have at least 1,000 calories a day (safer to have 1600) for regular bodily functions & brain activity. Yes, she has an ED & should she a doctor.

Okay, first if your friend is eating at least 1,000 calories per-day, ( providing she /he is taking in all the protein, fat, vitamins etc. that is needed to nourish the body they are okay. If they are still over doing it on exercise, then yes they do have a problem and need to seek help. Eating disorders are very dangerous and not diagnosed frequently. Have your friend get help soon.

Eating less than 100 calories a day is starvation, and continuing on a diet like that will kill her. Talk her into seeing a doctor and therapist.

to weigh what you weigh you need to eat your calories plus a zero. So if you are 150 lbs you need 1500 cals a day to sustain 150 pounds. Anything that you work out you can add to your total.
You say your friend doesn't eat a lot... but you really need to figure out what she eats. Is she too skinny for her BMI? People don't think I eat a lot but I do eat enough to maintain my weight, even though I mostly eat veggies and fruit.

i'm not a doctor, but having been diagnosed with eating disorders myself, she seems to have anorexia and/or exercise bulimia. Eating 100 calories a day is nowhere near what she needs to survive and what she eats she exercises off. talk to her. is she crash dieting or has she always been this way? if she's always been this way, it could be a serious issue.
