My husband and I were both 20. Neither of us enjoyed going out and partying or drinking, we went through that stage in high school and we were over it. We found out I was pregnant 9 days after we got married. I was upset because we had planned waiting about four years so I would be out of the Navy and we would have some time for us. My husband held me close and reminded me that getting married means starting a family and we were just expanding our sooner rather than later. He was so excited and so I was I. Our son is now 13 months old and it's been tough. I was able to convince my command to give me an honorable discharge so that I could take care of my son. My husband went to Iraq right after Brandon was born and I have A LOT of respect for single parents going it alone. I had no family to help and not many friends. Two weeks after my husband got home, I got pregnant again. I'm now 12 weeks and we are so excited to be giving our son a younger brother or sister. I've a good experience with it but you and I are very lucky and we need to appreciate that not everyone is as lucky as us. Good luck with your little gift from God.

Hi, I'm going to be 25 at the end of the month and I have 7yr old and 6yr old Girl& Boy. I was 17 when I had my daughter and She was the best thing to happen, I was going down the "wrong road" and she picked me back up again and set me straight, a year later I had my son. I did have to quit school, but I still worked and now working on my acting carrer. When my Daughter is 20yrs I'll only be 36-37 still young enough to have fun later. As a single mother it is hard but if you have your husband with you every thing will be fine. Nothing make life better then being a parent......whatever age.

I am 18 but I am not having the child til Jan. ( Such a wait) I am glad you overcame what evryone said. As long as the father is still with you forget what other people think. I think you and the father will give your little girl a great life. Good luck.

Well, when I had my first daughter I was 19 going on 20. Even at this age a couple of my aunts were telling me i should go get an abortion because they felt i wasn't ready and i had only been with my boyfriend for 6 months. Yes he and i have had our differences, heck we even took a trial separation to see if we can get along better. Today we know we have two daughters one is three going on four and the other has just turned two in April.
my aunt said that it was going to be hard, i have to admit it hard only sometimes. i would love to stay home but with two daughters, i needed to get a job to help my boyfriend with all the bills. at times it does get hard because we don't really see each other that much. but other than that its been great.
i wish you a good and enjoyable parenthood with you family. :) have a long and enduring life.

Why is everyone having babies so young? I am 25 and married and have just begun to think about having a child. I understand that accidents happen, but there are ways to prevent babies from having babies. Most likely your child will have a child around the same age as you did, so it's a cycle. I respect those of you who step us and take care of your child but you have to give yourself time to grow up so that you can give your child everything. Sure it's fun to play house but do you have a job, does the father have a job? Who is paying for all the babies having babies?
