YES! But I'm a nice person, so I let it go.

NO, I don't "HATE". That is too strong of a word to be in my vocabulary; you shouldn't HATE any one or anything! Didn't your mother teach you that HATE is a 4 letter word, and 4 letter words are used by uneducated people! Shame on you. As a matter of fact, people are not obligated to Thank You, if you hold the door for them! Next time hold out your hand for a tip! didn't your mother teach you anything?

What's the point of holding the door if you're expecting a positive response. People hold doors for someone, especially a stranger, do so out of courtesy and ingrained selfishness. I don't mean selfishness negatively, but a positive aspect of human nature. Have you heard of the verse, 'Do unto others, what others do unto you?'

Politeness is its' own reward; that said, sometimes it is annoying, like when it's an obviously well to do person who acts as if this kind of kindness is owed to them. Otherwise, I know I did the right thing, maybe Karma will get the rude people someday.

Not at all. I hold the door for someone to be nice, not for a "thank you." I think that would be pretty selfish and would totally negate the good deed.

No I dont I get over it in 5 seconds or less. There are more important things to worry about than that.

I don't open the doors so people think better of me, I open them to be helpful. If my whole purpose to open the door would be for a thank you then that'd be selfish.

that's when you make sure you leave right before them and let the door hit them ....actually i wouldn't do that....if they don't say thank you i just chalk it up as bad manners, and let it go....what's worse is when you are behind somebody, they look over their shoulder at you , and let the door go, and it almost smacks you in the face.

My husband and I just say"your welcome" if,they don't say anything which is followed by a quick "oh,thank you"! I find it is bad manners if, someone doesn't say thank you or please!

My son was tought to say thank you and please and I was so use to it that I forgot he used it and I had lots of people tell me (that I didn't know) how well mannerd he was!

Also, people respect you more when you have manners and are nice!
