Most of these guys don't know what they're talking about. Apparently, they're thinking that you're getting the 3.5l V-6 engine, not the 2.5l 4-cyl engine. The guy talking about the 350Z and G35 is even further off. The Altima is front wheel drive; the 350Z and G35 are rear wheel drive. Handling characteristics are very different.

All in all, it's a pretty good car. It accelerates about the speed of its 2 closest competitors, the 4-cyl Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. It will make it handle a little better than the Camry and about the same as the Accord (the Sport Package makes it look sportier but doesn't affect the way it actually drives. Drivetrain and suspension don't change). It's a little noiser than the Accord and Camry, but you'll probably get a better price on the Altima. Make sure you get the antilock brakes and airbags.

Personally, I'd choose the Accord. The Altima has a fairly wide turn radius, which can be frustrating in confined areas like parking lots.

Yes, I highly recommend it. It shares the same engine and format as an Infiniti G35 and Nissan 350Z, while it's style has been improving over the years. Nissan is also highly reliable and the Altima is known to have the best resale value of midsize sedans.

My mom has one its the fastest car i have ever been in. It gets great gas mileage and its afordable. Its also very reliable. We drove all the way to new york and back without any probs. Be sure to get the navigation though it really helps on road trips! Ver comfortable and it has great handling. We took it at 70mph on a 25mph turn. So ya its an awesome car. You should totally buy it!

It has lots of power but handles like a boat. Fun to race people off of the line, but it rolls a lot in the corners...such is the case with ALL Nissan vehicles.
