You have your "ictions" mixed up.
The Quran is FIction.
The Holy Bible is NONFIction.
Hey, Good question.
Don't feel ignorant, it is a common mistake.
God Bless You. Continue Seeking Truth.

If the Bible is fiction, then someone convinced thousands of men and women all through the mideast to lie for the sake of a cheap read. Most scholars agree that the first gospels were written 30 years after the events described, so lots of people connected would still have been alive when the texts were written, enough to make noise if they remembered it diffrently. Add to this the fact that there is more periferal historic evidence (stuff written in recovered letters, documents, etc.) for the existence of the Christ than there is for the first Roman Emperor.

Yes, it is the greatest book ever written, but it ain't fiction! I'm glad you asked this question! It gives ME a chance to tell every one about Christ! Thanx!
The Bible is the inspired Word of God! It contains all the information you need to live a healthy life. It is a medication book (God is the great physician). It is a book that helps you make vital choices in your life. It is appropriate for all ages. It tells you how to get the best house you've ever lived in (if your a Christian, Christ is in Heaven preparing a beautiful home for you to life in for eternity), and it gives you directions to this house (the Bible tells us how to get to Heaven!). It is the GREATEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN. Oh, and its author is quite famous also (GOD)! : )
Read This:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 3:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
I John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
All of that came from the Bible. Does that sound like a book of fiction to you?

Whether or not the bible holds any truths will always be a question. Take the stories as they are...just stories and hopefully get something good from it. Just don't count on its content being non-fiction.

Heh. Sure does. Maybe that's why it's the #1 bestselling book in the world. Quite a few it sounds like it's based on actual history, but the rest of it sounds like something out of one of my stories.

The Bible is not fiction! And if you believe that way, then you are (by your own decision to believe that), headed for ultimate destruction.
That's not a statement of condemnation, but the absolute truth. God never lies.

i think that the question of how ficituous the bible is shouldn't matter. what should matter is how the stories affect your relationship with god. maybe god allows so many different interpretations of the bible and its stories so that people can interpret it themselves and come to a closer, more personal relationship with god.
